I recently got some really nice custom wood arrows. They are 29 inches and 50 -55 lb spine. That is what was recommended by the builder. My issue is that my carbon arrows hit dead on but the wood arrows hit 4 inches to the left. I am right handed. Not wanting to change the bow set up. Would going from 125 to 175grain points be enough to weaken the spine and move the point of impact 4 inches to the right or do I need more weight?
Thanks JW
You might make it work ok.... what is the center cut on the shelf? and what type of strike plate material are you using? If the 175's are still running stiff you can thin down your strike plate to bring it over... Using different types of strike material has an effect on spine too...
Thanks I was hoping to leave the shelf alone to allow me to shoot a 3d shoot that categorizes based in arrow material. Modern is anything other than wood. Traditional is wood. Trying to dial arrows in so that the sight picture is essentially the same. I can just pick up the other arrows and change categories. Just not sure how much point weight is needed move the point of impact 4 inches to the right.
