Found this picture of me in 1965 with my first bow and first kill .
Let's see your first kill .
Also notice the hi tech detachable fishing spool mount , was a glass jar .
I can't tell what you are holding? Are those converse allstars on your feet?
Here is my first. I was a bit older then you were when I got started in trad hunting!

Bisch
Bisch : That's a 13 stripe ground squrel . The shoes are blue tips .
I was also very hard on bull frogs with that rig .
Dale,
Started shooting a bow like that when I was 8, also hard on bull frogs-Pops liked the legs. Rabbits were fair game and in '65 killed my first buck with bow-45# solid fiberglass Bear bow. Really a fluke on my part but sometimes better lucky than good.
Fun to see the older pics.
Well, I started around 57/58, no pictures, but I don't think you'd want to see it anyway, as it was a big east n.y Brooklyn rat.
You guys kill me, " are those converse sneakers " :biglaugh:
Both nice trophies.
This was my first trad kill. Beginners luck!

Good greif Dennis! Thats the way to get going. No digital cameras when I had my first kill and no film cameras around sadly. I think thats a major reason I take so many today.
Good thread and good looking "Firsts" guys.
Ooops, I made a mistake. This was actually my first kill. I shot a gobbler in the spring and the buck that fall in the same year.

This is my first deer . A few years later than the ground squirrel , and not much bigger .
:bigsmyl:
Here is my first. I was not very good at pictures back then.

Graps...that old bear quiver sure makes me wonder what we were or weren't thinking about in those days
This would have to be my first after reintroduction in 2009.

Somewhere in the "Historical Photo Albums" in my Moms' house, is a 5 y.o. Birthday pic with me and My Very First Bow. I don't think I will show the Corn Cob I killed. Wasn't a record or anything.
Crappy iphone pic...but my first harvest none the less.

graps
no offense meant but when I saw your pic I thought it was a kangaroo!
my bad
Graps, nice pics. Only us old guys know what a "suicide quiver" is. You've got one in that pic with your first whitetail. I'm surprised I'm still alive after spending my youth climbing a rope with knots tied into it to a wooden pallet nailed in a tree with a Darton Magnum slung over my shoulder and a Kwikee suicide quiver stuffed with Bear Razorhead tipped Micro Flites with no safety belt. Those were the good old days! I wish I owned a camera back then and was a picture taker, just wasn't in my hunting budget then like it is now.
:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Funny thing about the suicide quiver , I would string that setup with the push pull method . Those arrow heads would be within an inch of my for arm .
If that would have slipped from my control , yikes .
Congrats all, keep them coming!

It was early October 2005

This was my first deer with trad equipment, and my first deer taken off of my own land my wife and I bought about 6 years ago now.
I'll play, first trad kill with my first self built glass bow. KennyM's design. Last June. And yes, it was hot!
