Well guys, I do not know if you have heard of the Falco Archery company in Estonia, but they do both production and custom bows.
After seeing a lot of good reviews and videos on a particular model called the Falco Storm, I decided to place a custom order with my own wood combinations and spec's.
Here is what I ordered:
Falco Storm 54" / max draw 29"
Right Hand, 45# @28"
Weight 0.8 lbs (from a personal review)
Handle - Dark Cocobolo and Madagascar Ebony Stripe
Limbs - Medium to dark Palisander
This is quite a short bow for a R/D Longbow, but I think that is what is cool about it. The reviews I have read seem to indicate that it shoots as well as many of the longer bows but just a smaller package.
It will look similar to this but with only one stripe.

This is a Storm as well with similar wood.

Here is a picture of a strung Storm but in different woods. This will give an idea of the size and shape.

I think this will make a really nice woods hunting and stump shooting bow. I am really excited about it but the only draw back is that it will be about 12 weeks before it is done and shipped.
Ah well, I think the wait will be worth it. Plus it will give me something to look forward to and day dream about for the next 3 months. Hehe. :D

I like the looks & profile..should be a shooter.
That's a really pretty bow.
Falco's are in good reputation here in finland.
And they are not over priced.
Does your bow have a carbon at limb's.
Falcos have a stellar rep in Europe. They are surprisingly affordable/competitively priced even with the international shipping.
I had the opportunity to snag a lefty Force used recently but had to pass. Wish I could have snagged it.
Thanks guys. Yep I am excited about it.
I did not order the carbon. I went back and forth on it because I have heard mixed results(not with Falco but other brands).
Also it seems like you only get a few fps with the carbon so I was not sure it was worth it. Do you think I should add the carbon? It is not too late I am sure.
Thanks
Dave
Add carbon ? This is an excellent question ? I am torn between with and without carbon limbs because I find the bows with carbon limbs to be more abrupt or to have more recoil and, I think for me, this extra recoil or abrupt movement of the limbs makes accuracy more difficult or makes the bow less forgiving. This is not to say I can't shoot both bows with and without carbon in the limbs accurate, just very different.
I've read and watched alot on the falco bows! They look like some awesome bows and i have seen great reviews! They are up there in the elite bows in Europe as far as I can tell. Can't wait to see it!
Dave. Just went to the Falco site. Nice bows indeed. What is the monetary designation and how does it translate into US dollars?
He gave me a private deal that was different from the site. But the custom is listed as 235 +35 shipping to MN. So that would be 270 Euro via the site, which is about $312 with todays conversion. That is still heck of a deal for a custom shipped to your door.
The conversion a few years ago was around $500 USD, so the market is working in our favor.
Dave
That's a heck of a deal for a custom!
I have custom Falco 68" Trophy carbon, zebra and wenge and high gloss.
It was like 395€. Very affordable and excellent bows
