Title: Centaur carbon vs wood limbs
Post by: spider64 on January 18, 2015, 09:13:00 AM
I would like like to here some opinions on carbon vs wood limbs on centaur bows ! Is there more noise with carbon and is there  a note able amount of more speed and is it worth the extra money or not ?
I know iam asking a lot of questions but just trying to decide what I want . Thanks a lot ,
Darren Webb

I've had them all.. Wood, chimera, triple carbon. The only must have in my opinion is the XTL lam. Makes the bow very stable and also much quiter. The carbon without the XTL does have a slightly different sound but not loud.

A nice compromise is the chimera or all wood with XTL.  Nice blend of everything

Darren,
I would give Jim Neaves a call. Jim will be more then happy to talk to you. He does a real good job of explaining how much performance you will gain from different limb layups. Talking to Jim made my decision real easy

Jims a great dude to talk to....almost had trouble getting off the phone with him and we weren't just talking bows...he'll help you out...I personally never saw a difference in my carbon vs wood but I never chronograph or anything and my wife says I don't hear too well either
