Title: Vintage Howatt, Browning Brace Height
Post by: SquareHead on January 14, 2015, 10:01:00 AM
Hi Folks,

I have two older bows that I would like to make sure I am using the proper brace height:

Damon Howatt 58" Hi-Speed 45#@28"
Browning 54" Nomad I 47#@28"

Can you all give me your opinions on the brace height as measured from the deepest part of the grip?

I am shooting around 7.5" on both, but just for curiosity sake would appreciate your opinions.

Thanks much

I can't help you with an exact brace height, but I do have a Damon Howett Super Diablo and all I do is to check the groove on the limb where the string rides for my brace height, it a 1974 and shoots great.

I had a Nomad I that shot quietly with no shock at 8" on the nose. Nock height was 5/8" but the arrow rest was elevated about 1/8". Hope that helps.
