I'm curious, how many wish carbon shaft manufacturers would make carbon shafts 33"?

If they did that I could almost get 2 shafts out of one. Lol
-
Then they would need to be stiffer too.
32" works for me, but a bit longer might help quite a number of folks.

I am perfectly happy with 32.5 inch ones like the Full Metal Jacket 300's and the Dangerous Game 250's...a half inch is not gonna make much difference...and yes I understand those are not all carbon shafts...to me they behave more like carbon that they do like aluminum...getting to be about all I hunt with

I can shorten my draw length a half inch simply by shooting a heavier draw weight

I total agree!
-
I CompletelyAgree! With my 30.75 inch draw length i would love that!
-
Longer length in the lighter spines for sure!!
-
I don't have any problem with their length, but then I only draw 26 1\\2". At times it must really suck to have a long draw length. Could you switch to wood, maybe you could get them in longer lengths ?
-
I do! I have a 31" draw, I was pulling 32" and am now trying not to stretch out so much and get back to 31ish inches i drew to in the past to get more repeatable results. I can't hardly tune by arrow trimming, have had to use tip weight only and that is troublesome sometimes. I can make almost any brand and model arrow tune for my wife but I'm always having to buy certain arrows based on the length they come in versus what I'd like to shoot!
-
And also I wish they would quit changing the length an arrow comes in! I've had that happen a couple of times also, one changed from 32" to 31.5" and another recently went from 33" to 31", that one was a real bummer!
-
There are some that long like Carbon Express Maxima in 150,250 and 350 are 33" long. They are in the $130 plus range just for a dozen shafts.I believe that AD's Trad and Trad Lite's are 33" long also.
-
Unless they changed most of Carbon Express were 32.75" at least the bigger ones.
-
Probably some bean counter got involved. If you save 3" off a run of shafting that would've been 33" and it's a million dollar raw material cost run, that would've saved $90,000.
-
YES!!! Longer. I also ran into the moving target regarding length when I ordered the same shafts from a well known trad vendor. They were clueless, and said the shafts are sized by a sub-contractor. Not very scientific. Not very accountable. I order thru my trad shop now. They recieve most carbons raw, totally unsized, from the factory. Joshua

I hear ya, I wish Doug fir came in 33". I got some and tapered them. 31" is all I get out of them. Cant use them and must go back to carbon. I shoot beman ics bowhunter they are 32.25 and my brass insert is another .25. Thats as close to 33" as I have seen.

I just with they would standardize all shafts at the same starting point. Let me dictate the length form there.
-
I wish they were an inch longer! I shoot CE Heritage due to the longer length. By using a insert and glue-on nock, I gain another 1/4".
-
JRY309,
Nope. Only the Three Rivers .300 Trad only is 33".
I do use them, I do better with the AD tapered and have ordered those direct from the mfg at 32 3/4"
Any shorter than that I occasionally hit the shelf with broadhead.
-
I do like wood shafts. And don't want really want have to foot them all the time.
I haven't been able to purchase wood shafts like the surewoods.

I shoot them full length and install brass to get spine down. With longer shafts I could reduce weight a bit.
Seems to me some shafts were 1/2 or 1 inch longer
just a few years back. If anything they shortened
Some of them.

Same arrow here and they are just a touch short for me to shoot off the shelf.
I believe Black Eagle has some that are 33"....will be the next arrows I buy.
-
I agree I need longer as well...I have been told if you order from ad they can make them longer for you.
-
Are the Trad Only from 3 rivers 33"? I ordered mine cut at 32" but I think they are close.
-
Just checked, I guess I should have looked first. The 300's are 33". I like them.
