Title: Big Agnes tents where are they made ?
Post by: DeerSpotter on January 13, 2015, 04:20:00 PM
I purchased a big Agnes tent thinking that it was made in the USA.  But when I got it the bag and the tent have a tag on it made in China ! I seriously thought that they were made in the United States does anybody know for sure. I looked on the Internet but I can't get a straight answer. I was told that the material that they get was made in China and they assemble  them together in Colorado.

Thanks

Carl

I'd give them a call or email and ask.  I can't find anywhere on their website that says "made in the usa".  So I'm betting that they are not.

I have the Helinox chairs and they are great.

Thanks Mike

I purchased a Eureka at first but you could see the lesser quality, we went into the store and put up the big Agnes and you could see the quality difference the salesperson said the bags and things were made in China and the tents were made in Colorado but you know salesman.

If you have the six person model you can stand up in it to change your pants, but you will have to crawl on your hands and knees when the wind comes up. If you use it in the Bdub make sure that you are prepared to use guy ropes to keep it from collapsing.

I lived in Steamboat Springs, CO for a year and my roommate was a seamstress for Big Agnes- so i know for sure that some of their items are/ were made in the U.S.A. As the company has grown I wouldn't doubt some stuff is being outsourced, but couldn't tell you for sure. Still have some wool clothing handmade from there that is over ten years old at this point- only problem is, i don't fit in them anymore
