Welcome to TradGang!!
Kegan makes a great bow! All I shoot anymore. Welcome to the gang!
Welcome from Kentucky!
Welcome! Nice looking bow! You won't regret your decision to put down the wheel bow!
Welcome!
Welcome to the fun! Admiring your bow, and also the serious container it appears to have been shipped in.
Welcome from California . Nice looking bow.
Welcome and congrats on your new bow! Hear nothing but good things about Kegans bows. :wavey:
Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcomes.
Still getting the bow set up. I recently installed some cat whiskers. Ordered nock, nock pliers, and arrows. Ordered 6 cabelas stalker extreme 55/70 with the 4" feather. Going to leave them full length for now and see how they fly. Will test out both 100 and 125 grain tips. After I get decent ill look more deeply into better arrows, and more in depth tuning.
As for now, really just want to work on my form and consistently.
Remember that kegans bows wayyy outperform their poundage, ive had many of kegans bows and they always spine out as much as 10-12# higher than the weight. Basically, if your bow is #47, id be looking to fit my arrows to a "normal" 55-57# bows. Just a thought from my experiences! Good luck!
Welcome, very nice looking bow! Johnny
Welcome. i like your longbow, i am one for the little bigger grip such as yours, very nice, hope you first trad kill comes right away.
Welcome. Nice looking bow!
Nice bow Nick, welcome to the site. Nice to see another Jersey guy.
Welcome from Georgia.
Kegan builds a fine bow, and he is an outstanding shot!!!! I was fortunate enough to Shoot with him at the worlds this year and he is a great guy for sure
Welcome
Thanks again guys!
Yes the bow is a red oak stain, it sure throws an arrow quick, and is nice and quiet. Can't wait till the rest of the accessories come in!
Beauty!
Welcome from Oklahoma and you will not regret putting down the compound.
Got some arrows in.. For now, just got some basics.. Cabelas Stalker Extreme 55/70s - full lengths, fairly certain they are 31.5". I am starting off with 100 grain tips.
They shoot OK side to side, but I notice at about 15/20 yards the tail of the arrow wags up and down..
I shoot 3 under. The bottom of my nock is 1/2" above sqaure - therefore the top of the arrows sit right under that point. It seems the fletching is hitting the shelf, you can see where it rubs in the pic below. Other than that, it flys fairly straight. Advice? Is my nock too low? Kegan tillered the bow for 3 under.

Regarding your question on arrow flight-- it's hard to tell from the pics, but from the first pic in your last post, it looks like your brace height is pretty low. I think you said in an earlier post that your arrows have 4" fletching; if that's true, it looks to me like your brace height may be low. I have one of Kegan's Omega Originals (same model as yours) as well, and I shoot 5" fletching-- I brace my bow so that the fletches just clear the shelf & sight window (maybe 1/4" clearance between front of feathers and the sight window). And I tend to like low brace heights because I have a long draw. With your fletches being only 4", it looks like your Omega is braced even lower than mine. Just a thought, I could well be wrong (and often am :) ).
Fine lookng shooter!
Welcome!!!
Hello Nick from jersey, very nice looking bow, what part of jersey are you from ?
Correct the fletching is 4". I did not mess with the brace height. It is the original string that came with the bow.
I am from east brunswick area
I can measure the brace height. I did originally, I don't remember what it was tho.
Just double checked the brace height. It's 6.5"
Welcome from the great white north.
You will find the answers ta any, and all questions you may have on this wonderful site.
My bows aren't omegas, but they seem to like 7.125 - 7.250.
Just twisted up the string... To 6 7/8". Ill see how that shoots Friday :)
Welcome. Don't forget every twist changes your nock point. I would go with tied on nock points until you get it all tuned. And just try a few shots with the cock feather in, it gives the bottom feathers better shelf clearance.
Pretty bow. You are probably gonna need a heavier head. Arrow probably a bit stiff. Just a guess. Kegan should be able to tell you a good spot to start with brace.
Welcome and enjoy your omega! I killed my fist trad deer with it this year! Great bows!
