Title: Arrows for ACS-CX?
Post by: snag on October 02, 2007, 03:37:00 PM
I have a new/used 60#@28" ACS-CX. GT5575s cut to 28.75" w/ 160gr. heads fly great through it. But I love to make and shoot wood too. Do you think 65-70#s would be the way to go or should I go up to 70-75#s?

Don't be surprised if you need even stiffer ones, like 80/85#.

I shoot 70-75# cedars out of 58-60# longbows.  You'll need at least that, maybe even more, as vermonster says.

My 49# ACS eats  65-70 cut to 29" with 125 gr. You will need some major stiffies, and/ or build out your side wall.

I say 80-85s will be darn close, if ya shoot 125 grain heads, with a 29" arrow BOP ya may need 85-90#s with 125 head. Shawn

Snag,

I had one with the exact same specs. Shot 29" bop  85# Forgewoods and lam birch out of it with 160 gr up front and they flew perfect.
