Hello gang,
I'm just try to get some input on the centaur one piece and take down models. I'm on the build list and trying to decide which way to go. I usually go to Colorado hunting elk, and a take down would be a nice feature. So my question is which do you prefer and why? Does the take down model shoot any different?
Thanks
Jeff
i have had both models and i can say they both shoot great. The takedown model has no additional vibration or any different feel. I thought it might be heavier mass weight but it is really not. Very impressed with this bow and if i was in your shoes i would buy the TD.
What pamike said.
If you want to split the difference between the two and just want the extra mass weight he can build a 1pc with Dark Matter as well. He can also do exotic wood scales over the Dark Matter if you like that look.
Either way a Centaur is always a good decision.
I am happy with my TD,but traveling oversea a one piece isn't an option.
If the additional price isn't the concern then the td is the way to go. It's going to give you more options in your backpack and while travelling.
I love my take down!
I only have a one piece and I love it,I have traveled with 1 piece bows before with no problems, but I also may be getting a takedown, either way you can't go wrong, good luck!
Jims T/D shoots and feels exactly like his one piece and is rock solid. I just couldn't get over seeing that joint/seam splitting that perfectly beautiful bow in half.
If you're only going to have one, get the two piece. No difference in the way it shoots but much more versatile.
for me, a t/d bow is an airline travel must have. other than that, there is no need for such a bow configuration. for the very most part, there no real perceived difference 'tween like geometry t/d and 1pc bows.
I have a three piece tree all tines I can use for traveling if necessary. Im just not sure if the t/d model is worth the extra $425.
It's a hard call for the extra $$ but TD is what I'll be ordering
