Just got back a couple weeks ago - we got 4 javelin.  It was pretty slow hunting this year.  Usually we get 8-10 pretty easy.  Oh well will be after them again next year.  Sorry, don't have my camera with me for the photos.

We tried to live trap one this year.  Nearly worked - laughed about it all week thinking how we were going to do it.  Will get one next time.  We even had the video cameral set for it - was a lot of fun.  A couple of the new guys went along this year and we let them take most of the shots.  Was happy they finally got some.  Snuck up on some at night - I was the flash light holder staying back.  Waited and waited for the shooter to get close.  I thought he was still a ways out - comes to find out he was standing right next to them waiting for me to "Light em Up".  He took a shot in the dark - still laughing about that one - a little miss communication there.  Haha

Skip, where in Nv are you from? I'm in Pahrump by Vegas but am going to Reno in Feb to work on the Tesla project. Taking Jan off, it would be nice to have a shoot or go hunt som Javelina (never been) before I go. Don't find too many trad shooters here.

Ahh you are in luck!  We are in Reno and hang out at the House of Arrows on Rock Blvd.  We have no Javelinas here but we have a place in Lemon Valley to shoot and one in Carson city, too.
Our rabbit population just dropped to near zero or we would host you on one of those exciting trips.  Bring a bow or I will lend you one of mine.

Just got back from Arizona. Hunted 4 days and only came across them once. Hiked some cool country hung out with friends and was lucky to fill my tag.

What area were you in?  Over the counter tags?  A lot of other hunters?

I hunted 36A. They were left over tags from the draw. I saw some other hunters but it wasn't crowded. Most I seen stuck close to the roads. A half mile hike and you were away from most. The javelina were not that dense in the area so that may have been why.
