I have some big Douglas Fir shafts that I would like to hunt with in the future. Anybody got any suggestions for a 160 grain glue-on head?
Ace Express
Howard Hill heads.
I think there are a couple of the bigger Simmons heads that are 165 grain glue on.
STOS if you're set on 160 grains. Zwickey Delta if 135 might do it. Abowyer Brown Bear or Wapiti if 175 plus would work. Those already mentioned are also good.
STOS for two blade and VPA for 3 blades are what I shoot.
STOS, and they can be made wicked sharp.
I echo STOS.
RMSGears new 160 grain cutthroat.
Another vote for STOS in that weight
Ace standard is a great 160 gr broadhead too. It is inexpensive, indestructible, and very easy to get shaving sharp. They have been around forever and have a great track record. As said by others, the Stos and Ace Express are great as well. Pick one, you can't be wrong no matter which you select.
I might have a few used Ace Standard 160 grain broadheads that you can have, if you want a couple to try out. PM me your address if you're interested.
Magnus makes a 160 2 blade with 1.5 inch cut. I had great success with the 135 grain version. Easy to get sharp with good file and leather strop. Cuts awesome hole.
Zipper Grizzly makes a premier 160 grain BH.
Ace, STOS, Grizzly, Magnus, there are plenty of good ones. The Ace Express 165 is one of my favorite heads.
Take SuperK up on his offer. The Ace Std is a great head and super tough.
My experience has been with Ribtek, ACE and Magnus Mag I, in order of indestructiblilty.
the magnus 160 is a great 2 blade , providing a good wide cut
take a good look at Abowyer , some great heads that are scary sharp
simmons
Ace standard!
I really like the Ace Standards. They are easy to sharpen and tough!
Doug no need to look any further than your Tradgang name. Them interceptors are dang good heads for what walks our woods.... Heck, I got a dozen on the way!
For glue on I like both the 160 Ribtek and Ace Standard broadheads. Both have done a great job for me over the years. You have to look anymore to find Ribteks but Ace are readily available and inexpensive.
