Title: Which shaft size
Post by: stikbowshooter on December 28, 2014, 11:23:00 AM
Looking for some input from people.  I am shooting a bear grizzly (45@28), I draw right at 28".  Should I go with 1916 or 2016s? and what length might work best and what about broadhead weight?  Thanks for all your help!

If you went with the 2016s you could leave them long and cut back till it tunes straight . try 125gr. Point and if you can go heavier you can .
Don't cut shorter than 1" longer than your draw length . It you sneak up on it , you can tune them very close .
Would be nice if you had a person watch over your shoulder to see the arrow flight ie fish tailing and or proposing .
If you don't have help you should paper tune .

If you are drawing 45# at your DL, I would bet the 1916's will be a better fit, unless you were planning on going with a LOT of front end weight.

I shoot 45# bows and 1916's fly great with 125gr heads. 29.5" arrows. I may play with some 2016's and heavy heads in the off season.
