So samick sage brace height is recommended 8 1/4 . How do I get that? Twist the string in?
You have to measure what it is now,and see which way you need to go. When you twist it up you shorten the string and that gives you more brace height.
Yep. Not sure where you are starting from? Leave the top string loop on the top limb and remove the bottom loop from the bottom limb tip. You can start twisting 6--8--more twists and restring the bow and check again. More twists in the string equals more brace hight. Repeat until desired brace height is achieved. Twist or untwist to get close to your desired brace height. After shooting a few arrows you will probably need to recheck and adjust.
How far do you need to move it?
If you have a endless string there is a limited amount of twist.
If a Flemmish twist then you have more room for added twist.
A string that is twisted more than 8 to 10 twist per inch is less desirable.
With factory string it was 7. But Im ordering a fast flight from big jim. So I will have to see the
No sense even worrying about it until you get the string from Big Jim...twist the one you have now so that it gives you more like an 8 inch brace height...you are not really worried about how well it shoots at this point as you are going to be replacing it...and do not worry much about arrow spine or flight...it will most certainly change with the better string...so do you have someone working with you on your form...tuning without solid form is just an exercise in frustration...I have been shooting for 5 years now, I have tuned a bunch of bows, and some days I just give up on trying to tune something new because my form is off a bit

3rivers on their website says that for the sage the recommended brace height is between 7 1/2 " - 8 1/2". Every bow is different and will have a different brace height. so your not to far from the starting point. You just need to adjust it to fine the sweet spot.
I will get with a few local guys after get string and arrows and see what we can do.
That B-50 stock string will stretch a fair amount, leave it braced and shoot it monitoring brace height.
