Luke 2:11 says "for today in the city of David, there has been born for you a Savior who is Christ the Lord."
2000 years ago we all received in the form of a baby:
1. A Savior
2. The Christ
3. The Lord
He was born, not "to be" all three, but He was born "as" all three. Mary was instructed by the angel Gabriel to name Him, Jesus. That, my friends, was what we all received for Christmas 2000 years ago. He is there for all that will accept Him. That gift will last forever.
Wishing all of you here on Trad Gang a very wonderful and joyous Christmas
Danny

My favorite Christmas Cantata sums it up in the title song "Born To Die". The greatest gift in all the world is Jesus! And I praise the Lord for the cold January night of 1975 when He came to me and saved my wretched soul!

Yes, Jesus is the Reason for the season!!
He was born in a manger, starting a 33-year journey to when he said, "It is finished", to redeem all who choose to believe.

In the beginning was the Word , and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
We got the Word and we were blessed by the creator of all things with Himself. God was manifest in the flesh. The Word became flesh and dwelt among men. Then
He was killed and raised Himself from the dead. Flesh was resurrected and as many as will call upon him and believe upon him are resurrected into newness of life. Old things pass away and behold all things become new. We are a new Creation that could have never existed unless that baby, The Word was born in Bethlehem , Killed as the sacrificial Lamb of God and then raised from the dead. He died for me and for you. If we will receive that we will be born again of the same spirit (HIM) as the resurrected Christ of God and never be the same. We will not see death, we will not taste death because we will never die. He died so that you and I do not have to. Our bodies may but we are sooooooooooooo instantly with Jesus (already there) that we do not see or feel that death. Its a wonderful gift that will never be surpassed by any other.
God bless, Steve

Awesome post - awesome response! Thanks!

Amen!
I find it ironic that there was no room in "the inn" for a innocent baby 2000 years ago, however today that same innocent baby, is always making room for one more at the "table" (no matter what you have done). ALL are welcome!
Merry Christmas to all!

Some time last year our pastor gave a sermon on Phillipians 2. It more clearly defined the idea of the trinity and really impacted me and is constantly in the back of my mind. The whole idea of a King, the King, taking form of a slave and humbling himself to the point of death. I think it is an absolute perfect illustration of his gift to us.
*who though he existed in the form of God * did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,
but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, * by looking like other men, ** and by sharing in human nature. ** He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross! As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth – and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Good stuff guys.

Merry Christmas Everyone !!!
