Let me start out by saying that from personal experience I have a phobia of cutting carbons. I've always been of the camp that says choose the right spine, leave it full length, and tune with point weight. Needless to say I was in complete denial when Stu's calculator came up with a bow dynamic spine of 71.5 for my new 47# bow. Apparently Stu factors past center cut and skinny FF more heavily than I would have thought. My .500's were going to be anemic and from plugging in tip weights there wasn't one light enough to stiffen a 32" 400 enough. It was with great angst that I cut a test .400 to the recommended 29". Bare shaft flight w/ my preferred 175 gr. head perfect..Score Stu-1, me-zippo.
I'm a believer in arrow calculators (I haven't used Stu's, but I often use the 3 Rivers Archery one that I believe he helped build), and have had excellent luck provided I entered correct data. Of course, we're talking fairly common components - bows, arrows, tip weight, etc. I think people who have more eccentric tackle may struggle a bit with them. On a side note, I went through a carbon tribulation a while ago (part my stubborness, part carbon's tendancy to stiffen quickly) that caused me to abandon the carbon endeavor altogether. Haha
I was going to try the 3rivers calculator but it does t have TallTines as one of the bow options!
Any recommendations?

At the top of the list there is a pick for "Generic Recurve" or "Generic Reflex/Deflex Longbow". Pick whichever of these most accurately fits your bow.
Picking a particular bow brand in the list just auto-enters the shelf center cut data. For the generic bow you have to measure and enter the shelf cut data yourself, or get that info from your bowyer.

Would that change since I'm going to use a rest?
It'll only change it if the rest includes a build-out of the shelf.
