Could you please post up some pictures of game taken/bloodtrails you have gotten with the 2 or 4 blade Delta's?
I'm primarily going to use VPA's but I think it would be neat to use a "classic" broadhead once in a while as well.
Thanks!

You have to do something with your hair Terry!
Good Hunting,
Craig

Going to be pretty tough to follow that up Terry!
Thank you as well for posting the info on sharpening them with the bleeders, very helpful!

Iowa,
They allow my sharpening rod to hit the main blade with them ground down. They still allow an extra cut to aid penetration.
Good Hunting,
Craig
-
Oh I see, thanks for the heads up Craig
-
Hey Terry, that is quite a number of impressive kills with the black diamond delta.

Missed one...my 1st Javie...

Anybody else have some pictures?
Thanks for posting all of yours Terry, very impressive!
-
My dad left me with 50 or 60 4 blade heads and all the bleeders were ground off by him.. He says they just got in the way when he was sharpening the head.
-
I like the bleeders...no problem sharpening them or the main blade for me. The bleeders are a cinch to sharpen....and they are just enough to make for a hole and more blood, and negate arrow pinch.
-
Yea I'm going to get the one with bleeders for sure. Looks pretty easy to sharpen according to that video you made Terry
-
Killed a nice size doe with them this year. No damage to the head and it left an incredible blood trail. I file sharpen mine and have no trouble. Just look at Terry's video on the how to section.
-
I settled on the delta 4 bld. as my broadhead a few yrs ago, it has never let me down. as long as I do my job and put it where it needs to be.

That broadhead has probably killed more animals than any other head on the market
-
That Caribou is impressive, that Is the only animal I want to go out of state to hunt.

Oh....at the horror of that statement....the man has never eaten a REAL pig.
What a shame. :readit:

Lets bring this back up, love seeing the damage these Delta 4 bladers can do.
I have some new FMJ's on the way, made up fancy from Mr. Gary Hall (Thanks Gary) and will hopefully get to put them to use on some late season whitetails!
-
Would love to see Terry's video on sharpening a 4 blade. I can't find it.
-
Here it is
4 Blade Delta Sharpening (http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000031)
-
One of these days when I get closer to someone good at that sharpening gig...I need some hands on.
that video just doesn't do it justice. I can NOT get them remotely sharp.
I cheat on the eskimo's and use a lansky, but same gig, only 2 blades. Someday I'll grow up into the 4s lol. For me I found the woodsmans just easier to sharpen than screwing with bleeders if I want a multi blade head.
-
Makes me wanna get some deltas....shot Eskimos woodsmans Magnus muzzy.....you guys cost me a lotta money
-
I dont think Terrys ever shot an animal
:biglaugh:
-
I really like the look of those 4 bladers, going to have to order some.
Thanks all for those that have posted!

Back to the top for this one!

Nice Hair who's your Barber
-
Man you are a terror on those hogs Terry!
-
Modified ZD4s with thick gauge tin glued to the bleeders....dulled and blunted a bit to protect the dogs....
-
very impressive Terry to say the least! Congrats on multiple successful hunts!
-
Terry, could you post a picture of those modified Deltas? I'm interested in how you did that. Also sweet shooting!
-
Here's one that charged me at night in TX that Curt Cabrera wounded....I paralyzed it by shooting it just beside the jaw into the spine of the neck....
Hold on...I have another charger...
-
I have a pic of some other heads I did that are more handy....same as what I did with the ZD4s....let me find it....
-
Still looking...but found the pic of the carnage of the pretzel shot.....
-
The tin was cut with snips in the shape of a boomerang.....with the glued end being half the length
(http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/2012--everything/P3110039.jpg)
-
This is another charger....a brute that Michael Langahans shot, then Curt shot...and then it charge me....I also shot this one just past the jaw and into the spine of the neck and dropped it too. Mine is the Yellow Flecthed arrow.

One heck of a hunt!!!!
-
Just hard to beat Z4D
-
Sorry, I posted on the wrong thread. Good stuff anyway. Cool mods!
-
I killed my first trad deer this year with a D4 shot from a 43# Thunderchild, on the front of a 535 Gold Tip. Spray was three feet from where he was hit, travelled 60-70 yards.(http:// [img]http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee458/jimavelis/IMG_1005.jpg) [/IMG] (http:// [img]http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee458/jimavelis/IMG_1013.jpg) [/IMG]

Where'd you get the pink ones?
-
-
can i mess this up any worse, post didn't register, until they all did.
-
A fellow PBS member offered to teflon coat broadheads with purple in memory of former PBS president Larry Fischer, who was victim of pancreatic cancer. Purple is the awareness color for that cancer. Several of us had the broadheads done, others carried a bit of purple into the filed when hunting.
-
:knothead:
-
I stayed at Larry's cabin once....with my wife and girls.....what a great memory!!! Great Guy! :campfire:
-
oops, obviously...

I never got to know him Terry, but have benefited greatly from the folk he knew and influenced. I would have liked to break bread with him I'm sure.

Gordydog nice animals! Actually a lot of great kills! Great thread!
-
CAUTION...Use extreme care if you shoot a Delta, 2 or 4 blade. They are deadly!

Gordydog thanks for sharing!

Started out with Zwickey eskimo 2 blade 28 years ago when I went back to traditional bows. Then went to Zwickey Delta 2 blade , then onto 160 Snuffers, 125 160 200gr Grizzlys, then 4 blade Deltas and finally shot a deer with a Simmons Treeshark. I always bounced back to Delta 2 and 4 blade as my favorite. Fun to try different well made heads, which they all are. Deltas sharpen easy, have a great ferrell to spin perfect on wood or metal adapters. Now I usually fill my quiver with 2 blade Deltas and put two 4 blade Deltas as bookends. I always put a tanto tip on them. Never had one fail.
-
Gordydog... What's a tanto tip? Sorry new guy here reading and learning as much as I can.
Roy
-
Hey Roy, he is referring to the type of tip on the broadheads. Still a pointy edge, but it's more of a pyramind. Pm me your phone # and I can send you a picture for reference if you'd like
