Hi gang! Kirk has sent a parcel to me, to Finland. I'm going to make a review when I finally receive this beauty but for now I'm only serving you some eye candy!
This bow turned out to be just like I imagined it, or actually even prettier. This is 62" Bigfoot Sasquatch SS and it's 60#@29.5".
The riser woods are bocote and zebrawood accompanied with amazing curly cocobolo accents. The bocote riser block was quite straight grained but it had some pleasant surprises hidden inside, check out!
Kirk put this bow thru chono and the reading was 198fps with 614gr arrow, so 10.23gpp.
Kirk is a wizard with superb customer service! I asked million questions and got even more answers and everything went so smoothly that it's actually pity the bow is finished already.
Anyway, here she is, from block to a perfect hunting bow

WHOAaaaaaaaa !! I like!!!! :jumper:
Nice! Where are you in Finland? My oldest son is in your country on a humanitarian mission. He is up north right now.
At the moment I'm in a very small village 100 kilometers from Helsinki, but I live in Helsinki
Hmmm... Do you remember the place where he is? Just curious
Roveneimi. He was in Espoo for awhile as well. You live in a beautiful country!
Okay I see. It's said that Lappland starts from Rovaniemi but actually you would want to go little more north to see the wilderness. These are photos taken on July when I went hiking to Kilpisjärvi.

You can drink straight from the rivers, the purest water on earth I think. Photos don't do justice tough
That is a beautiful bow and pretty pictures of finland. Thanks for sharing.
Is it bowhunting allowed in Finland ?
Thanks for the pictures! I will show my wife. The more I see of Finland the more I want to visit. Breath taking! Thank you!
Yes it is. Finland is actually like only country in Europe where bow hunting is allowed. The biggest game we can hunt is roe deer at the moment, though. Whitail deer is also coming on a list, hopefully soon. They are at least working on it, i think
trad bow hunting is very underground thing here, compounds rule the scene
Awesome bow by the way! Never hunted Roe deer, hmm.... :)
Maybe I post some more photos from Finland later, on another thread :D this one was for this amazing bow :biglaugh:
Kylläpä tulloo komia käppyrä tänne pohjolaan!
You are ready for the whitetail's.
Nice bow!
Wow! Beautiful bow and beautiful country. Thanks for sharing the pics.
From Norge to Finland i will drive without stopping :goldtooth:
You will be my new best friend :biglaugh:
Bowhunting is allowed in
Italy,
France,
Denmark,
Hungry,
Bulgaria,
Serbia (in some parts) ,
Slovakia,
Croatia,
Turkey,
Portugal,
Spain ,
Estonia
I thought my Sassy Lady had pretty Bocote , but that came out scrumptious!! I love the way he flipped the footing to contrast the grain a bit...nicely done, Kirk!
And the coco is like none I've seen before...my, my...
Trad archery won't stay "underground" long if the boys in Finland get a load of that compared to a sterile piece of die cast metal!
Congratulations... And yes, In deed, that is some awesome country you play in...
That country and your new bow will compliment one another's beauty (land and bow, not yours) :biglaugh:
On the serious side, the looks are incredible, but wait till you see the performance. I've shot some of his early SS and it's like they have this point before you hit full draw where it FEELS like it "rolls over" and lightens... SWEET!
All the energy seems to go into the arrow. I had to bump my spine up from 400 in slightly higher poundage bows by others, to 340 with slightly lighter poundage on my Sas!
That is a real beauty, enjoy.
Beautiful bow but, you will have to send it back, he cut the window on the wrong side (LOL)
Beautiful bow
bowfanatik, I know many will bow hunt no matter what the legistlation is but Italy, France, Denmark, Estonia was new thing to me. I thought it was prohibited... But it's only a good thing I was wrong :biglaugh:
Terve
Onpa hieno jousi - eiköhän tuolla rusakko putoa :D
Haha, taitaa olla aika overkill rusakolle!

Thanks for sharing that beauty and part of your country. Finland is been on my wish lost since I was a kid, I hope to visit some day so I can try your Lefty bow.
"I've shot some of his early SS and it's like they have this point before you hit full draw where it FEELS like it "rolls over" and lightens... SWEET!"
That's exactly what I'm looking forward, never tried bow like that before! Kirk made this grip for my shooting style, I hope he nailed it. My current bow has nice grip but it's not right one for me
I have no idea why it does feel that way, Henri, but it was "there" to notice.
As for grips, I fought bow grips for 22 yrs, trying various and having customs made...
Then Kirk got a try and my, oh, my.... like hand in glove.
During my "sharing" period, there were many who chimed in that he had "custom" designed a grip for them as well and they too felt it was like it was molded to their hand! Hoping and believing, you will find the same!
Kirk had brought a few of his early SS to the big Baltimore, MD shoot for folks to try out. I shot bows in my weight class and ones much higher than I normally can handle...and even the heavier ones felt wonderful...
I was really tempted to order heavier draw weight when i then shot ANOTHER guy's heavier draw weight prototype, but decided since I'm not getting younger, to go with something lighter. I couldn't be more pleased!
Excited with you waiting to see what it does in YOUR hands!
She's on her way Heneri..... :goldtooth:
I thought i'd share something with you on this photo you posted below. I've been using a Thunderbird sanding sealer on most all of my bows these days. That is what you are looking at here.
I've used lacquer based sanding sealers before, but this stuff is superb material. It fills all the grain slots very nicely and makes an excellent base for your finish.
Thunderbird Archery products are now distributed by: St Joe Riverbows Contact Tracy and talk to her about their products. They are sponsors on TG here, and really good folks. http://stjoeriverbows.com/
