STOS broadheads have been put up for three weeks. Pulled them out to touch them up for this next weekend and found them rusting. I have tried some fine sandpaper with some wd-40 which has helped alot but not enough. Obviously I am going to have to put a new edge on them when I get the rust off so how about using a wire wheel? Any advice is appreciated. God bless. DT
I use a wire brush, then resharpen them... then you can put vaseline on them to help keep the rust from coming back.
Maybe they were in a dampish area or no ventilation. That sounds like a bit of surface rust; the sharpening process is going to get rid of any rust in the important areas. I use some chap stick or vaseline on the edges when I'm done.
Chap Stick. Forgot who came up with that, might have been TooShort.
String wax works good too!
second chapsstick-use d it daily when I lived the 80's in AK.
Use a black permanent marker to go over the sharpened edges. Sounds crazy but the little bit of ink will keep the rust off.
Jeff...TooShort copies everything from me...I told him to use chapstick so's he would quit cutting his fingers applying vaseline

cooking oil spray works good
