Title: Kalamazoo questions?
Post by: Chain2 on December 11, 2014, 08:53:00 AM
What goes on? Do you go if you're not in the market for a bow? Do you take your bow to shoot there? I've wanted to go for a couple years. It just might happen this year. Thanks guys

I try and go every year whether i am in the market for a bow or not. Not only bow's for sale there, but plenty of accessories. I believe you can take your bow in,but it has to be checked in at the front door when you go in. It is a great show that i look forward to attending every year. You should check it out.

No personal bows are allowed in the event...if you have a bow to sell it can be left st the main entrance on the consignment table...lot of folks do this. You can take some arrows znd a glove if you want to try a bow.

When I went last year, I was sorry I didn't bring my arrows.  Tried lots of bows and it was fun but would have been much better with my arrows.

I thought they were kind of discouraging folks from bringing their own arrows?  Too many guys walking around with them sticking up out of their back pocket.  People were getting jabbed by the nock end off the arrows as people turned, bent over..etc in the heavy crowds.  The new building is much nicer and roomier so the crowded aisles aren't as bad anymore,  but it could get pretty crowded and hot in the old space.

There was plenty of room last year and I was there during the busy Saturday.  Could have been because the weather was so bad that lots of folks didn't make the trip.  I saw a good number of folks with their own arrows.  I would say it depends on how serious you are about actually buying a bow while you are there.  If you know you are coming home with a bow - bring your arrows.

So do I need to bring arrows or do most vendors have some...would seem like id have a hard time with arrows if I wanted to try different draw weights?

Bow makers will have arrows, but you may prefer to shoot your own.  If your arrows aren't going to match the bow, use theirs.  If you really want to shoot several bows, arrive early.  The shooting areas can get pretty busy on Saturday.  Friday is my favorite day, it just doesn't last long enuf.

I don't need a bow but I'm sure I'll need something when I'm there.

You can bring arrows in, at least they allowed it last year.

If you need, want it or don't need it you can buy it in K-zoo.

Will be in the Michigan Traditional Bow Hunters booth all weekend so stop by.

You always need a new bow! You just may not realize it till you get there.

Don't go cause you will find lots of stuff you had no idea you need. It is a great show and you will have to either leave all your funds home or you could go home broke and happy.
