Post by: gringol on December 09, 2014, 09:01:00 AM
Anyone use these?  They look good online, but I'm concerned that they might be noisy.

They are; think Carhart heavy weight canvas work pants rubbing against limbs and such.  Filson makes great stuff, but it is way overpriced to me.  Other options that are very good for far less money, but you pay for that name.

Paul, these aren't the typical canvas pants by Filson.  They are 4 way stretch synthetic, sounds similar to sitka pants on the website and they're on sale.  Are you familiar with this synthetic material?

Hmm, no, I'm not.  Never seen anything by Filson that wasn't heavy canvas or wool, anywhere.  It would pay to know exactly what materials these are made from, as some of those are pretty noisy.  My Under Armor hoody has a really slick, polished surface that makes noise if you drag anything across it; I only use it for the gym because of that.  Modern technology is not what Filson is famous for, I'd probably pass on it if you aren't sure or can't see it in person.

I'm going to pass unless someone has used it and will recommend it.
