Title: Tolke lynx vs whip
Post by: Dan bree on December 04, 2014, 01:33:00 PM
Is there much difference in feel and shooting.  between a lynx with longbow limbs on it  and a. One piece whip. Thanks.

Dan,
You will definitely have a more weighty platform with the Lynx.

I have each of those bows, and my Lynx riser alone weighs as much as my Classic.

Performance wise I can not be a fair judge, as the limbs on the Lynx are 12# lighter than the Classic. I can tell you that they both shoot a quick, quiet, arrow.

                                              Good Shooting,
                                                             Craig

I like the lynx better, as mentioned it will be heavier but still fairly light all things considered.

I like the one piece whip better but they are both great bows. Where in N.J. are you? Lefty or Righty. I could let you try my Whip. I have a HS whip with a classic grip left handed.

I have a Lynx with both recurve and longbow limbs. The longbow limbs are 64" 51@30. I also have one of Dan's T/D Whip's 64" 51@30. Your question has me thinking a little bit now. May have to pull them out and do a little head to head comparison. Both great shooting bows but completely different in design. I'm curious how they might stack up against each other in the speed category.

Lynx more mass of course.  From my comparisons Whip also has a whisker more reflex in the limbs making it a tad snappier/quicker, but we're not talking much.  For me, the 2pc Whip is the best of both worlds.

I have both, and prefer the Lynx. I think the heavier mass weight of the Lynx improves my accuracy. I have the Whip because sometimes I shoot in longbow tournaments where a one piece longbow is required. I'd rather shoot my Whip than any other one piece longbow I've seen, but I would still rather be shooting my Lynx.

I've shot a lynx recurve but never a longbow. I really want to. I've owned two dozen Toelkes but no longbow lynx. I need to get on it.

TxAg, I have a Lynx in Dallas if you're right handed and want to shoot it.

My first whip HS should be here tomorrow.  It's killing me!

I'll chime in tomorrow after I shoot the whip.
