Will there be a difference in the shoot ability of a bow with the shelf cut 1/8th past center vs 3/16th past center?
1/8th past should make the arrow act a wee bit stiffer. I believe 3/16th would be 1/16th closer to the riser and thus line up the arrow closer to the string. The string would be able to impart more power to the arrow that way, thus making it act a little weaker. But 1/8th would be more out from the riser having the opposite effect making the arrow act a wee bit stiffer.
The more past center it's cut the more room you'll have for tuning adjustment.

2X on this one... It allows a guy to adjust the strike plate thickness to fine tune arrow spine rather than tinkering with point weights and arrow length..... You can shoot a much wider variety of arrow spines with a bow cut past center.
I wouldn't think there would be much difference between the two, altho they wouldn't tune the same. I shoot wood arrows and don't really like a bow cut past center. A deep cut riser requires too stiff a spine.
Thanks guys
