Guys I killed a big doe Friday pm, then Saturday am , had a buck come thru, had him dead to rights at 15 yds and hit my sleeve right above my arm guard, clipped his front leg right below his chest. Doe they still make them long pull on sleeves to compress your layers? I think I remember seeing someone like realtree had one?
I haven't seen them for sale in quit some time but I haven't been looking for them either.
Take a knee high sock that's old and cut it off just above the heal and bingo!
Yep, they still make them. I recently gave one to a friend to use with his ghillie suit. My wife also uses one occasionally, depending upon how heavy she is dressed.
Mike, 23 has it...I use a sock for a knee high rubber boot with the foot cut off....if you need one just let me know...got a couple cut that way
rubber bands and or electric tape will work in a pinch
Got my last one at Cabelas....
Sorry it cost you an animal...
God bless
Rodd
Yes they still make the realtree sleeves... I seen them at walmart this season. I have done what others have said...cutting the sock..and used the rubber bands. But this year I started putting a pretty snug long sleeved t-shirt on as my outer most layer...and it seemed to get everything out of the way.
X2 on the rubber bands.
I recently learned that the sleeves of my favorite plaid shirt could be caught like that, thankfully during a little stump shooting on my way out of the woods.
I actually stole a couple of my wife's hair bands that she left around the shifter in the truck the other day, they work alright too(and it seems they are always around, between her and the two other girls)
Probably could just buy a pair of those long soccer socks. That should work.
garter, rubber bands, surgical tubing can be used to tighten sleeve.
Thanks Guys, I might take you up on it Ray. I will see what I can come up with. It was how the sleeve bunched up behind the arm guard and the fact that in the heat of the moment, I forgot to keep my arm bent !
Women's nylon hose. Cut the foot out they roll real small. Carry couple with my gillies they work well.
E.W. Bateman offers them.

MAL makes a good long leather armgaurd, if that one isn't long enough maybe your form is off.
You can order the realtree sleeve online if you can't find it locally.
Get ya a Neet brand arm guard, N-SS-RGL. It's 13.5 inches long and 3.75 inches wide. I like mine !
Congrats on the Doe Mike, Bummer about the buck.
Left my arm guard at home one morning luckily I had my camo bandana.
Thanks Guys, Charlie, he wasn't hurt any so it was ok, it isn't the first time, probably not the last !

yup... i prefer the thicker ones that are more like tights. I think they call them "Support hose" ...
Ask your wife bro... She can probably fix you up. Just don't get caught rooting around in her panty drawer without asking... That's BAD. :scared:
OK , so I went to Wally World, picked up a set of long camo tube socks , cut the ends off , we'll see how it works.
3' of ace bandage works like a charm
I have one of them long arm guards if that does not work I can let you have mike
We don't have much for bitter cold weather here where I hunt in Tx, so this may not be an option for you.
I cut the left sleeve off of a LOT of my shirts, sweatshirts. I may have 4 or 5 layers on, but only two on my left arm.
As long as my torso is warm, the arm with less on does not seem to bather me any.
Bisch
Thanks Hogless,
Bisch, I didn't have that many layers on , it was just what was bunched up behind my regular arm guard. I was my mistake and I believe in the heat of the moment , I straighten my arm out instead of keeping it bent.
Rancho Safari made one for their guilie suits.... :campfire:
Thanks T , I will check it out .
I made a sleeve out of tanned elk leather, just slip it on and good to go.
Depending on the coat, I've used two regular armguards. One between my shoulder and elbow and the other between the elbow and wrist. It works very well and, it makes bending your elbow easier.
