Does anyone have any recommendations for a hard travel case for a T/D Recurve?
I have travel plans and want my bow to hold up through flights..... ya, I know, good luck.....
Any recommendations?
When I travel by plane to a hunt, I use an SKB compound double bow case. The SKB cases are airlaine rated, and pretty tough cases. I can fit 2 bows in soft cases, all my arrows, and a bunch of other stuff/gear in there too!

I've found that the best way to travel with a bow is using a Safari Tuff soft case and then packing that inside a hard bottom rolling duffle bag. Add an extra set of limb socks and the Safari Tuff case can even handle two bows. My duffle is large enough to accommodate the bow case and an arrow tube. Clothing gets packed around everything for padding. With this set up I can get everything I need for a short hunt in one bag and a carry on.
I hate extra baggage fees! Fly a few times and you can more than recover the cost of a decent rolling duffle bag.
I do about the same as Joe, bottom of my roller duffle or in my 120Q cooler. Zero issues in 20 or 25 flights until last spring coming back from Alberta. My gear was fine but the wheels on the bag got beat to hell and a handle on cooler went missing. Still not all that bad considering the amount of flying I do for work and hunting. I've had TSA dig from my stuff a bunch to and it's always been fine as well.
I use the standard TD recurve travel hard bow case sold by 3 rivers archery for years now. Actually it is the arrow case one (37" long) as my shaft are full length and the TD bow riser case is only 32". I put my bow and limbs in a fleece sock from safari tuff and it is roomy enough for another 9 arrows along with the bow. That bow case goes inside my travel luggage so hidden from curiosity
I have to second what Whip says here, works great and I have done it multiple times with no issues. If you still want a hard case you can look at a spotting scope case for most T/D bows. I do have one and can get two bows in the case, mostly use this for traveling in my truck.

Odd man here....don't wish to advertise that my travels involve hunting.
My bows are taken down and stored within the clothes of a well designed rolling duffel.
My arrows are stored in a Safari tuff and packed safely within the duffel travel bag.
Zero issues in overseas travel...learned this from a well known trad archer that has frequently hunted overseas. The odd thing is that he has the special bow cases at his disposal, yet always opts for the previously desribed method.
I love the bow cases from Far North Archery. You can pack the riser and two sets of limbs in the bow case and then a couple dozen arrows in the smaller arrow case. Throw them both in my duffle and then pack clothes and gear all around them.

3X on Far North Archery... Jon is a great guy to deal with.
I have a double bow case from SKB. Love to get rid of it! It gets oversize baggage rate and I've gone to the same method others here recommend. Bury it in your duffle.
You asked about a TD hard case, I think the best out there
Is the Pelican 1700. Holds a riser, two sets of limbs, two dozen
Arrows with heads and space for misc. items like TD bolts, strings and bow quiver.
Has weels for easy travel, but best of all it's tough, really tough. I've had several, easily the best. Not the cheapest, just the best.
