Looks like a great weekend! That coon will make a nice hat!
Sounds like a great weekend!!
Sounds like a real good time.
Good stuff there, thanks.
Definitely looks like a fun time!
But I have a question? Wouldn't all the heat from the stove just escape out the side of the lean to??
Also, what kind of stove is that?
Thank you sir
Now that's living! Very nice set-up. Been meaning to do that myself in northern mn.
I was trying to figure out how you carried all that gear in with you , is the stove a take down, and what about the poles for the tarp, carried in or made each time ?
Nice set up.
How much does your pack weigh with all that stuff? What type of saw did you use to cut those blocks of wood?
njloco, I use the same poles every time and I leave them in the woods cause I use the same spot to camp every year. The buck stove is homemade by me and only the legs are folding.I am working on a collapsable one but it is still in work.
GAFF, most of the heat from the stove is reflected inside the lean-to just like an outside reflecting open fire.I set my camp in late august and leave it there till end of november so when I go hunting and trapping I only have my backpack and bow to carry.

:notworthy:
Great looking setup!
foxbo, when I pack my camp in, that is the lean-to the packframe chair and stove with pipes. It weight is 21lbs.The wood is cut one year in advance and I use a small Echo chainsaw that I pack in on a framepack. For camp use I use a 12" bucksaw.

very cool.
That is an awesome set up!
Very nice set up, looks like a great adventure.
Thanks for answering my ?, it must be really nice to be able to set your camp up and, still have it there when you get back.
I asked about your gear because I use a titanium wood stove in my tent, it's totally collapsible but, unlike yours I didn't make it.
Very nice set-up, love the homemade camp!
Thanks Guyzer love to see plans for the chair as well. and the whealan if its easy to share.

That's awesome! Got to make one for a canoe camp - or camp anywhere!
Straying a bit from trad but got to say that is a NICE raccoon you got in the trap!
Nice looking set-up.
Looks cozy enough even with the "front door" wide open! Love having the chickadees around, what great companions they make.
Big coon and small hatchet, nice pair.
What do you use for a sleeping pad and bag? You will have to take a picture of your pack. Is your camp on private land?
Hello finkm1,for a sleeping pad I use a close sell
bacpacking foam pad and two heavy wool blanket as a sleeping bag.The stove does the rest of the job to keep me warm and cosy.My camp is on private land and I have permission from the owner since 1994.In that picture my pack is a camp trail 75ltr
depending on how long I will stay and I also use a camptrail moose bag with freighter frame for longer stay.
