Well I have had a tough season. I decided to keep a journal this year, and looking back I hunted for 84 hours before seeing a deer out of my tree stand! I was more than disappointed at that point. Come to hour 85 and I hit a small branch in front of a great buck that came to a bleat, I was heartbroken, but I was finally seeing deer at least.
I invited a friend who has had a tough time the last few years to hunt that stand the next day and he harvested a great 8 point, while I saw nothing on another property.
Finally seeing deer consistently, I was able to watch several bucks breed does (first time for me), and saw twice the 150 class buck I have been after for a few years, both times hot after does and at a distance.
Since I have 2 buck tags and 3 doe tags in Mass, I often harvest young deer if I have a chance to put meat on the table.
With our first snow of the year today, I took out my #45 1962 Grizzly and was able to make a heart shot on this young buck. A 200 gr. VPA Terminater center punched his heart and he fell less than 50 yards. I am thankful for the memories and meat. And to finally take a deer with my favorite vintage bow was great.

Tyler,
Nice harvest with that Bear Grizzly. I haven't been able to hunt at all this season but plan on spring hogs & turkey in SC.

Took it out again last night and had three mature does working their way toward me in the snow. Unfortunately the sun went down before they made it..
Nice shooting...I like the vintage idea.
