It does sound like a good time. I've been running around trying to get caught up so I can hunt the southerntier. Got a invite to go to a friends and hunt on last years tag 15miles from here, yesterday Sunday, but the weather was too nice for hunting got the lawn mowed again. That doesn't sound right does it. LOL
Good Luck up there
Good luck guys! I wanted to make it but some events that have happened were i work concerning now a former employee, has me tied down may even impact my hunting around home. Have a blast and take lots of pictures to post.
its all coming together now. i will tell you the severe lack of mast crop on the ground really has me worried! i have not saw it this scarce in a long time.
Ken : I bet I can have a good time even if I never saw more than a skweeerrrlll :0)
Ken,
That lack of mast might just focus them on some alternate food sources...which knowing your love of the woods, I'm bettin you got a few ideas!
Have fun gents. Those moments together will be memories for years to come when the body resists the hard hunts.
Enjoy and good times.
I'll be there. Alone :( (Ru's tied up with some other plans)
Can come Friday but early Saturday would be better. Will stay till Sun pm/eve.
Ground hunter. I'll bring my own gillie. I can bring a climber for someone else if you need (just let me know.) Happy to push too if it will work out.
Doc,
i have been scouting a lot with the help of John (Adirondackman) and we have found good sign but the lack of mast really worries me. i count on the beech and oak to really pull the deer of the mountain and on to the side ridge we hunt. still deer there but hard to form a good plan. we have already planned to do a couple pushes to get them moving.
up :0)
Soon My Brother.....SOON!!!!! :campfire: :archer:
Its definate....I won't be coming. Was looking forward to heading up with Woodchucker. By the way, Woodchucker, I have 4 Day Formula Scents in Pine, Cedar and Fall Apples. I will drop them off at your home Thursday or Friday.
I have a NYS Bowhunter Education Instructor Certification Refresher course on Saturday. If I don't attend, I will get decertified as an instructor.....I never attended a refresher past 2 years....but gave 4 classes...Good luck to all you Adirondack bowhunters....Walk softly and shoot shoot straight...
And Woodchucker....Please put some wood in the air this weekend!!!!
You guys have a great time. I'll be thinking of those campfires while I'm sitting in a court room (jury duty). Just another good piece of luck that found me this last year. Smoke a good pipe and walk with a happy heart for me.

Gonna be short and sweet.....I don't want to spoil Kenny's fun LOL.
All of the Gang are having a BLAST!!!!! GREAT FRIENDS.....GREAT FOOD.....GREAT FUN!!!!!
Saturday morning 2 shots were taken!!!!! "Official" tally..... Squirrels (1 Red and 1 BIG Black) 2.....Woodchucker.....0 :banghead:
Saturday evening,we got hit HARD with thunderstoms. Just before they hit Nathan saw a deer about 100yards off but he couldn't tell if it was a Buck or a Doe.
Sunday morning about 7:30 I heard a Buck grunting behind me.....I turned around just in time to see a 6-8 pointer cross the logging road above me about 50-60 yards away. He was too far away for a shot but hopefully someone will be able to get a shot at him!!!!!
Well,there you have it.....Like I said,short and sweet!!!!!
Kenny should be along soon.....He has LOTS of pictures!!!!!
Come on Kenny,,, let's see them pics!
WELL??????? Shawn
Man...the attack was definately a blast. Managed to pick up a few little known facts while I was there...
1- Ken= one great host
2- If it's not in Drew's tackle box, you probably don't need it.
3- The things Nate can do with venison are almost sinful...
4- Yes, Chuck does snore...
To those still hunting, good luck guys...
Oh, and uh, #5- treestands are definately the way to go...
