Hi guts what spine carbon arrows do you use on this weight bows?I used 500 spine eastons with about 200gr up front and the arrow seems to stiff
-
that should be weak... I use a similar set up at 28.5" arrow and use a 400 FMJ or axis trad.
They shoot great for me.
-
sorry i use 400 spine and not 500
-
500's should work great unless you have them cut way short, i use 500's out of my 45# [at my draw] mountaineer with 250g up front, cut to 28.5" and they fly great and hit hard.

My bow weight is at 52@28, I draw 27", riser at 0, astroflight string 14 strands with wool silencers;
My GT 500 trad are cut to 28,6" with 250g in front (200g broadhead + 50g long alu insert ) cresting and 4 feathers 4"long.
Or CE 150 express trad cut to 29" with 210g in front,cresting / 4 feathers 4".
This two set up have the same weight ( + or - 10g) but not exactly the same dynamic spine ( +6# for the CE ) but all fly perfectly with broaheads.
I prefer the GT for big games.

ok this is what ive tried today. 400 spine easton powerflight with brass insert and 165 gr field point. the arrow lenth is 30.5inch and with a bare shaft its to stiff. when fletched with 5 inch feathers it shoots better with the field points and 165gr zwickey. should i go 500 spine or stay on 400?

The key here is not the weight of the bow but the design. What bow are you shooting? We can do a quick calculation from that and hit the spine dang close.

haha dont laugh but im shooting a martin jaguar.will by me a new bow before our hunting season starts
-
The Martin is a mid range performer so the .400 spine are stiff. Try adding more weight to the front end and see if it helps. 250 gr should be about right.
Also you can adjust the rest to weaken the shaft by going closer to the riser.

i have already tried to adjust the rest but still no luch all in al my weight upfront is about 235gr

I draw around 27 3/4" on my 51 pound recurve. My 500 spine beemans are cut at 29 1/2".....this setup will handle up to 250 grains up front without over paradoxing. 400 spine arrows are just too stiff for me. I tried them all the way up to 300 grains up front. they are just too stiff for that weight bow....jmo
