Title: It's killing me!
Post by: freedomhunter on November 19, 2014, 02:02:00 PM
Went out this a.m. to a spot I found yesterday.  Made the mistake of getting sweaty on my way there and basically froze the rest of the morning.  Florida just hit the coldest day this morning at around 38 degrees.  I finally get up into my stand, but not with my bow.  I am waiting for my new arrows seeing that all my arrows fly weak spine with the new SBD string.  I did have a doe walk in 5 yards of me and thought to myself "how typical".  Don't have by stick and string and it's 3 days before doe season.

I just took my wheely bow out to see if it was still on.  I haven't shot it in 2 years.  Seems I am more accurate with it now than when I was shooting it.  I look in the peep put the glowing dot on my target and release.  Needless to say back in the case it went, feel like I have better chances at missing with a rifle.

Anyways, Had a good morning, drank some coffee in the stand, and saw my first deer of the season (I HATE FL).  Even knowing I wasn't going to shoot I did get all worked up.  I mean 5 yards is not bad.  I just want my order to come unreasonably fast.

I want to thank everyone one this thread for helping me get into Trad, now I don't want to hunt with anything else.  Maybe one day I will get my first kill.   :archer:

Keep after it, you will.  Traditional bowhunting has come to define me, it has that affect on many.  You have a lot of folks rooting for you.

It will happen - putting in the time and javing fun will bring results.  Trad archery made me a better hunter that's for sure.  Before I seldom paid attention and learned thigns like I do now.  Good luck and have fun on your journey
