Title: A Sheepeater followed me home!
Post by: Lee Viv on September 30, 2007, 11:12:00 AM
The Sheepeater Spirit Recurve from Mark Baker and Brent Rudolph arrived!  It sure is pretty.  I'd like to thank Mark and Brent for making it for me, and can't wait to try it out.

They are great guys to work with, but man, Brent really likes to talk when you get him on the phone!

Thanks again, guys!

What kind of wood did you have it made from?

Scott, the woods are osage riser with a combo of bocote and maple action wood.

Curtis, the leather rest is flexible enough to bend down, not fold. So, i guess it is more of a cradle. Mark has used them on his self bows for years, and he thought they would transition well to the small riser. I agree. They shoot great.

It is almost 48" long, and is 55# at 26".  I am shooting tapered Sitka Spruce arrows, and man, Brent, it is quick!  I didn't know about the rest, but I'm getting used to it and like it more and more.
