Just received this good news. Allen Boice (Liberty Bows) got to within 18 yds on the ground and put a WCA arrow in this beautiful buck. He got complete pass thru! WCA arrows and Eclipse broadheads out of one of Allen's great Liberty longbows all worked together today. Congrats Allen on a great buck! Glad my arrows did their part.
Beautiful Deer......arrows don't look bad either.....lol!

those sure are some chocolate horns! Just beautiful!
What a cool looking buck! Love those chocolate antlers! Is that a blacktail deer? Congrats to Allen!...and your arrows too! Lol
Kenny  :clapper: :clapper:
Kenny, we have a late blacktail season this time of year. Blacktails often rub their antlers on alder trees and vine maple which helps in giving them that very cool chocolate brown hue. They are an awesome animal and not easy to get close to on the ground.
Great classic looking Blacktail buck .... they love to bed in those thick tall ferns
Congratulations on a fine buck
Nice bow, super arrows and one AWESOMEEEE Blacktail deer  CONGRATS Allen :archer2:

All good equip there. My Contender is one of my favorite bows. I don't know much about Blacktails, but that one looks very good. Congrats to both of you!

Wouldn't that qualify for a pope and young blacktail?

Great job, when I lived in Oregon I was VERY frustrated when hunting Blacktail in the coast range...like a jungle and they knew how to stay in the heavy stuff...
Beautiful Buck, Congrats!

I was shooting one of my Hill style English bows, 68" long and 52# with a Surewood Douglas Fir Wilderness arrow topped off with an Eclipse 2 blade broadhead. I was kneeling in a fern patch watching a couple of does feeding when he came in. I actually had him at about 10 yards, but he was quartering to me and decided the shot wasn't right so I let him go. He seemed to know that something was up, but when the does didn't spook he made one more pass and presented me with a broadside shot, about 18 yards. The arrow was a complete pass through, I'm sure the 600 grain weight was a factor. It was a foggy morning and after he traveled about 100' I lost him in the fog. I let an hour pass before I started looking and found that he had only gone about 50' from where I last saw him standing.
Appreciate everybody's comments here and hope that your season is as much of a blessing to you as mine was to me.
