Title: Selling a bow... best options?
Post by: Rando on November 16, 2014, 09:32:00 AM
In the past I've sold several bows on the TG Classifieds and (luckily?) always had great response and successful transactions. I find myself in a position where I must sell another bow I am no longer able to shoot...
As I am not a regular buyer/seller of bows I am wondering if it is worth the investment/fee to post this bow on the Classifieds now that it is no longer free and understanding I am on a budget. I FULLY understand & support the reasons behind charging for this service, just wondering if there are better options for a someone looking to make a single sale?
Appreciate feedback on current Classified-user's experiences. I'm also interested in hearing experiences with RMSGear selling a bow for you. My concern there is sending a perfectly mint bow to be handled and shot with no guarantees of sale.
thanks for any info.
Rando

Well worth the investment in my opinion.
Most, including myself, have had nothing but smooth transactions since the "new" classified rules have taken effect. And thanks to our great moderators.    :notworthy:
Remember, consigning your bow won't be without charge either.
I vote "Join" and post up. You won't be sorry!!

I have sold a bow or two through RMSG. Depending on the bow, it can sit for quite a while before getting sold, so that might be a consideration, and of course, they get a consignment fee.
The bows that I have sold through TG have sold much quicker on average. $30 may be money well spent if you are looking to a relatively fast sale.

The quick IMHO is definitely.
If it's a nice bow at a fair price this is the place.

Archerytalk.com has a classifieds section as well that a good number of guys from this site use as well. Never had a bad transaction on there.

But I agree with them, if you're looking for peace of mind and an added benefit of accessing the classifieds to buy/sell gear for the next year, this is the place to do it.

If you used TG classifieds in the past like you say then you already know the answer to your question.

I don't even use/hardly use classified, but have contributed as a contributor the last three years just to support tradgang.  I use the forum, etc and feel it as a small amount to give back.

After people tried to scam me recently on another site my answer is yes!

I always prefer and trust selling my stuff to the 'Gang' before advertising outside.  Just like dealing with like-minded folks.  Having a track history of those you deal with is a plus.  For me, the $30 donation is something I do because I like the outfit.  Scott

X2. The sponsor fee is a small price for roam this great site and if you want sleep at night this is the safer place where to have your bow for sale.

If you're looking at it from a one-time sale then the $30 is something to consider. I have used the classifieds here a number of times, and cumulitivly speaking that $30 is well worth the money I have saved, headaches I have saved, and over the course of a year yet to come, will save.

Well worth it in my opinion. Pay the $30 and sell it with peace of mind. Don't think you could sell a $600 bow on the big auction site for less once the fees total up. As a rule when I sell one I always pay shipping and insurance, usual cost is $20 to $30 Priority Mail. One option is sell it and buyer pays shipping. In my mind you're supporting a great place to be and you just made your $30 back.

Think as you're $30 as an insurance policy that you will be getting quality people and a secure transaction.

Remember... when becoming a "contributor" you are not ONLY "paying to buy/sell" but are helping make this site available to all of us.

Support the "family"!

It is worth every penny for me to just be able to look at all the different bows for sale/trade.

Great site!!
