I moved out to Bozeman last year, and while I'm certainly not going to complain about being able to chase elk around, I do miss sitting in the November deer woods back in Iowa.
I will continue to put in for points to eventually get to go back to Iowa but dont want to wait that long.
I am thinking Ohio 2015, theres a workable amount of public land, big bucks can be found, and there's not a draw system to my knowledge.
Feel free to reply on here/pm me for my email address. Would be a good time to hunt with like minded bowhunters, and share a campfire with a fellow tradganger or PBS member
I was thinking about bowhunting MN next year. Lots of options up there, and a good deal closer for you. Just a thought.

Did you consider one of the PBS group hunts? I'm sure there will be several to choose from next year.
I've got a compound buddy that just got back from a public land hunt in Ohio. He sure had a good time and seen some nice bucks! I told him I wanted in next year, but maybe us trad hunters should start our own thing.
There is a Ohio Trad.Gang hunt that goes on every year in southern Ohio. You can look it up on here in Pow Wow.

Don't miss all the awesome opportunities here. I wouldn't trade a Montana tree stand rut hunt for a Iowa one. Montana has been way better to me for bow hunting mature bucks than the Midwest ever was! But traveling is always fun...
I just haven't had any luck finding bucks on public land. No issue finding does, but especially muley's just haven't had any luck whatsoever.
Plus I miss the leaves changing colors and the terrain etc. I will hunt back here in the rut as well, but truthfully would much rather get a muley in velvet than a MT whitetail buck. I saw a couple decent bucks, but nothing compared to what I was used to haha!
I have got something in the works for Ohio, thanks for all the responses!
I'd be interested! Southern Ohio is some beautiful country
