Title: Need help on my A&H Longbows
Post by: gonefishing600 on November 11, 2014, 06:22:00 PM
I have several A&H 1 piece longbows, and enjoy them very much. I want to start hunting with them, but I'm having problems getting them to be as quiet as some of my other bows.

I have went to all SBD strings, and they are getting better, but they still have a thump to them.

Anyone know how I can get these bows whisper quiet?

Thanks

Hi. What is there # and how heavy is the arrow ? I have had good luck with the fur silencers . Carbon limbs have a different noise . Good luck .

I found the A&H 1 pc to be a tad louder that the 3 pc bows which are mouse quiet. SBD string is the right choice. I suspect arrow weight; if not then brace.

Allen Schafer string, Bow Hush, Hush Puppies and a set of string leaches, decent weight arrow, adjust brace = super quiet.

I've found BCY-X to be the most quiet material for me, but there's more to it than just the string.  Tune for optimal brace height and silencer placement.  Be sure your arrow nocks don't snap on too tight.  Heavier arrows are quieter.  A good release is quieter.  The arrow spine being off can cause more noise.
