When I got up this morning, it was 2 degrees, with a 20 plus mph wind. After my second cup of coffee, I said "what the hell" and bundled up like the Michelin man. When I got to where I park, two does were feeding about 50 yards away, and seemed unconcerned, so again I said "what the hell" and walked right toward them. One hesitated too long, got an arrow, and was down in 20 yards. Shortest and least complicated hunt I have ever had, except that gutting her was no fun in the brutal weather. I would show a picture, but the camera froze up. Once again, my Morningstar, Hill heads and cedar arrow make meat.
I think that they must have been as frigid as I was.
Not much of a story, but meat is in the freezer.

If it was 2 degrees and windy, that hunt lasted long enough. As the saying (kind of) goes, "She who hesitates, is lost." Congratulations on the fresh venison.
Congrats Pat! You earned it just being out there
Hope she was kind enough to run towards the bed of your truck?? Way to go!
Awesome hunt! Wish it was always that easy
Very cool indeed!!
I had a hunt almost unfold that way last January. No shot though!
Congratulations!
Heck, the freezer is probably warmer than outside...
Congrats once agin Pat. ..OE
Congratulations!
Very nice. Congrats
Wat to go, congrats!
What a great way to spend this day for you! Congrats on the meat in the freezer.
Sometimes the hardest part is getting in the truck but you gotta be there to make it happen. Congrats on a fitting day! Happy Veterans Day.
It ain't worth it! Haha. You win tough guy of the year for that one Brother.
Awesome...congrats brother!!
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
You are the man! First of all Thank you for your service to our country and then to your community as a police officer. It was 32 here in SW Mo. and I chose to stay home and get chores out of the way. Hats off to you Sir. Congrats on the meat in the freezer
I hate pulling my bloody hands out of a warm body cavity while gutting in those temps.
Congrats on your Doe.
Awesome, centaur!
Congrats,
Bisch
Congrats Pat, I bet those guts felt nice and warm ! When you heading to AZ, it was sunny and 82 today in Buckeye
Congratulations Centaur! I duck hunted once in 5 degree weather on a freezing over Illinois River. That was enough for me. Something tells me you will savor something other than backstraps long after the meat is gone!
Hey Pat. Congratulations!!!
Two comments. One is that you've just proven that you can't fill the freezer sitting at the kitchen table.
Second comment is just a "Thank you for your service" on this Veterans Day.

Congrats on the great harvest... I keep waiting for the weather to drop out here. I pulled a muscle or something in my neck yesterday, because a morning hunt was my intent and absolutely not in the cards. Couldn't pull a glass of water from the sink, much less my Hill.
Congrats and thank you for your service. Maybe she was too cold and committed suicide.
