YOU LEAVE MY HUNTIN SPOT ALONE!     ;)  . Coach I love that place but it's 2hrs from me so I haven't hunted it extensively. I haven't taken any big bucks there but they are there. I have seen 2-1 big boys in the prairie portion W of S 1175 Rd. Most hunting over there is from the ground which I enjoy. Most of the crops are there as well. The creek bottom E of the lake looks great and great for treestands - I have had better luck up on the ridge between the lake and the creek. Take you crappie gear and a flat bottom if you are going to stay long.

I didn't look to see that you were from Kansas. Big to someone from SW Mo is 140+. The biggest I have seen there would get close to 160. Everything else has been 135-150. More of the 135-140 flavor. I'm talkin 10-12 in that range over the past 5yrs with an average of 3 trips a year 1-2 days a trip. Would love to go for a week and take the boat. A Great place. Fish in all of the ponds I've tried as well. Waterfowlers love it as well and they will be an issue for the E sd of the lake during their season.

How is the hunting pressure?

Very light on the prairie side. Light to moderate for the rest. Restricted to muzzleloaders during the firearms season and that keeps the pressure light to moderate during rifle season.

It's a cool place. I used to hunt it hard when I ran coon hounds. I still bow hunt it some. There are a few places where you can usually get away from the people, but not always. The parking lots tend to fill up pretty quick this time of year.  BeauJ
