Reading Big Jim's thread on Kansas, I thought that he wouldn't have to worry about sweating if he was here this morning. After an unusually warm fall, winter reared its head this morning.
Currently, 11 degrees, 30 plus mph wind, snowing sideways after being in the 60s yesterday. Maybe I'm a wimp, but the deer are going to get the day off today. This weather should improve the hunting in the next few days however.
Anybody else give the critters a pass when it is stupidly windy and cold outside?

Sometimes it keeps me in but I killed a buck last Sunday in high swirling winds.

I can handle quit a bit of wind but stupidly cold is another story.

Even if you can handle it like spring, arrows fly pretty funky in heavy and gusty wind. Better to take a day off and recoup.

One or the other..... I can't handle both cold and wind. Guess I'm getting old!
God bless,

Nope, tucked warmly in a ground blind right now. Currently 18 with a downward spiral all day. It has been an extremely nice fall though.

Even animals sometime need to move to get warmed up. Or something spooked them into moving ;)

I missed 3 shots last Monday on a steep mountain side, due to gusty winds at 30 plus, but it wasn't stupid cold. I would stay home if it was like that too.
