Title: Two Tracks Felted Wool Coup Cap
Post by: Roger Norris on November 08, 2014, 07:18:00 AM
I just used this hat for a week hunting up at ShrewHaven. I am a dyed in the wool Stormy Kromer guy, I wear one all the time, like most guys do baseball hats. But this Two Tracks hat is far superior as a bow hunting hat. Excellent quality, very warm, very functional. The brim is perfect for a bowshooter. I highly recommend it.

Mine should be waiting in the mail when I get home next week.  Sure wish I had ordered it sooner - I could be wearing it now!

I love the looks of it, but have a question for you guys that own one:

I have had two of the nylon fleece coups caps made by the originator for a several years.  The large is a little too tight, and the XL is too big!

I wear a 7 1/2 Stormy Kromer (also have a 7 5/8 that fits well, but a bit looser).

Based on what you wear in the Kromer and how the Two Tracks felted version fits, what you you have to say about sizing?  I'd hate to get it wrong on such a nice hat!

I wear a 7 5/8 Kromer. When I ordered my 2Tracks, I told Chuck that, and he sent me one that fit...

I wear a 7 1/8", and the medium is just a tad loose on me, so I think the medium should work well.  Giving Chuck a call would probably be the best bet, though.

My Coup Cap is under the hood of my "Shades of Sherwood" pullover.    :dunno:

I'd been trying to get a Coups Cap for almost a year. Every time I'd think about it I would either get too busy to take time; or else Chuck would be fresh out of them. I was reminded of this by another thread, so emailed the bearded-one about a week ago. Presto-Gizmo!....I got a dark gray wool and a forest green fleece CC. I think these are as good as headwear gets for chilly weather. Particularly wonderful is the panel construction which eliminates wrinkles and makes for a fine, close fit. The wool cap has solid structure...it's sturdy not floppy...and I love that. I've owned expensive wool caps from about everyone that ever made them, and for my tastes...Two Tracks ten-ringed this one.

I had a pretty good beard when I was Chucks age

Now that it's turned gray the dog can chew it off

I found a picture wearing my Coup Cap, pointing to a spot on the corner of our cabin where a bear has been leaving his mark for the last four years.

Styling in my new Coup Cap.  I need a shave - can't compete on the beard.

Whip.  I like it !

I got one this year too and have been wearing it recently.  I like mine a lot.

I have been growing my beard out now for a month or two and I am starting to resemble Santa Claus.  Maybe the deer will mistake me and come in closer ?  Is that baiting ?

I've seen Chuck eat.  That could be an issue.

Got a pup now, he's getting big, no more such issues !  He keeps me and the whole house cleaned up.
