Who all here is from the Hoosier state!!?? I feel all alone in my small town using traditional gear. Any guys close to the Lafayette area that knows of any traditional shoots or even a shop that has a clue?? I talk recurve and the bowshops look at me like I'm confused on what bow hunting is...
I don't know where Lafayette is but with Cloverdale in IN, there has got to be a bunch of trad guys up your way!
Good lucking hooking up with a few of them!
Bisch from TX!
EDIT: Cloverdale is 1.5hrs straight south of you. I bet if you contacted someone with the Cloverdale Conservation Club, they could hook you up!
Cloverdale is about 2 hrs south of me. What is there as far as traditional archery goes? I've yet to meet anyone up my way that uses traditional gear and I've been hunting whitetails for years with a compound before switching to trad this year.
Fyi I live in a small town 20 min north of Lafayette
They are around. You just have to find them. When the 3D shoots start up after the first of the year, go to them in your area. Go early and just wait for the trad guys to show up, and walk up and introduce yourself. You might also be able to find some local guys by asking at any archery shops in your area.
Like I said, they are there, you just got to finf them.
Bisch
I'm in Mooresville, just south west of indy. I don't know any trad guys personally, but I don't do any shoots or anything like that. Cloverdale does have trad only shoots so I'm sure ther are plenty out there
I'm near Winamac which is about 50 miles NW of Lafayette.
Since my son moved out of town, I'm the only stick bow shooter around here that I know of.
It doesn't sound like you're too far from me. Feel free contact me. We can do some shooting sometime.
I've got 4 acres to shoot on. Nothing fancy but it doesn't cost anything.
Archers come from all over the country (and beyond?)to shoot at Cloverdale. I don't know how many of them are local.
I am a little NW of Indy. The Cloverdale Traditional Nationals is a great shoot!
There are a few other trad only shoots. I shoot at Nancy's Broken Arrow 3D shoots pretty often. They are located just South of Cloverdale. They are not trad only, but usually the trad folks group up and shoot together.
PM me and maybe we can come up with a plan! There are quite a few trad shooters in Indiana.
Leavenworth here....way down south here on the Ohio River
I'm in Morgan Co. so not very close.
I'm from God's country here on the Wabash River. Cloverdale has shoots once a month, as does Bloomington.

(My apologies to the mods if I should not have posted this link)
"Gods country" is here on the Tippecanoe river. LOL
Cloverdale or Bloomington is a long haul. However, if all goes well, I'm headed down to the Bloomington area next week to try to get in a couple days of hunting before gun season opens.
I am from Indy. I don't know anyone real close to you. The Indiana Trad Bowhunters Association will start its shoots for 2015 in January. It's an easy drive down I-65.
Huntingburg here. Cloverdale is defiantly worth checking out.
I have to drive an hour or more to hang out with anybody that shoots trad and I order most of my supplies online.
Thanks for all of the responses from my fellow Hoosiers! I will have to check out Cloverdale and keep my eye out for guys around me! Winimac isn't far mgf I live in Delphi. And I enjoy jet boating both of gods rivers Wabash and tippy!
Spent a day or 20 over the years in Delphi at the USAGG plant.
Jet boat? Fancy! I just use a little canoe. LOL
I'm just north of Terre Haute and am fortunate that there about a dozen trad shooters close by. Cloverdale is definitely worth your time and the Compton Gathering in Berrien Springs MI isn't too bad a drive for you. Mike
There is a Small Archery Shop in Mace, depending where you are from, it should be a nice drive. the Lil' Arrow Shop, Good People!!
I'm from Switzerland County, SE corner of the state. I make it to Cloverdale and some of the ITBA shoots in Scottsburg.
I am over on the east side. Not many other trad guys over here.
I'm in SE Indy and hunt in Putnam county (close to Cloverdale). I frequent a shop in Greenwood called The Outdoorsman. Most of the guys in there are both compound and recurve shooters. I still order most of my supplies online, but there is knowledge there and a good indoor range where they usually have trad get-together shoots in winter.
Hello fellow Hoosiers.... I live in Anderson and work on Indus west side. Don't know of any trad friendly Haunts but always looking ;)
Hey mgf, I'm in the NW corner but do 90% of my hunting at Jasper Pulaski. There are several of Trad guys that hunt the same area and are always up for some fun shooting. If you guys want to do some mid day shooting pm me. Hope everyone has a safe and successful season.
I'm in Wilkinson (Hancock County)
Beezer do you 3D at Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club.
I am from Boonville (Warrick County) I try to make as many of the ITBA shoots in Scottsburg as I can.
I lived in West Lafayette for 10 years join Lafayette Bowman one of the best clubs in Indiana.I live in northern Indiana now still hunt with traditional archery.
I live hear in east central, IN, close to Richmond. Usually go to Cloverdale every year and been to Comptons several times. Would also like to be able to shoot with some local trad shooters.
Hey Boxbow, I am not to far from you. I am in Rushville. We should try to get to a couple shoots next spring.
East central Indiana here and Farmland conservation club just outside of Winchester puts on 2 trad only 3 day shoots a year. First one the weekend of memorial day and the second one is the weekend after labor day. Not as big as the Cloverdale shoot but we try to make it fun for everybody, when the dates for next year are set I will post them. Good luck hunting this season and hopefully I will post a picture of my first trad kill after 3 years of trying.
Awesome guys I'll look into Lafayette bowmen...never heard of it
Spoke too soon sounds like the Lafayette bowman is no longer a group

I've never hunted Jasper but it's not very far from me.
I'm laid up nursing a nasty cold but we should set something up when I'm back out and about.
I will admit, I buy most of my Trad Gear from Lost Nation here online. Excellent People to Deal with!! Larry and Janice Murray Own it, People do Not come Any Better than These Folks!!!
Used to be a pretty good Traditional group in Terre Haute when I lived there circa 1985. Cloverdale and Farmland are a couple big shoots. I might even try to get back to Cloverdale from Texas this year. I imagine that the wheel bow has taken over there much like the rest of the country. Post up here and link up is the best way. I'm sure there is a Trad Bow group in IN.
I can vouch for the Farmland shoot, they put on a good shoot. Meathead, I'm only about 25 miles from Rushville. Shoot me a pm sometime, I've got a nice place to shoot. Maybe we can swap some hunts.
boxbow-sounds good! thats not too far from me. this is my first year without wheels but ive fallen in love with it.
