Got home from work today and had a treat waiting for me. New custom made Blacktail bows sikta T2 recurve. It's currently pretty late so I didn't have time to field test but here are a few pics. More pics in the next few days. She is a real looker!! (http://i.imgur.com/v0iQML7.jpg)

Thats a beauty...congrats!!
Beautiful bow,I was planning to order one myself in the same wood combo. How heavy is that Tuja burl compared to the other exotics? I wait for your review and a comparison with the Elite if you own one.
That is one of the prettiest bows I have ever seen!May it serve you long and make all your dreams come true! Congrats!
That's Thuja wood right?
Wow! That wood is great. What wood is in that bow?
Absolutely lovely!
Norm builds an absolutely gorgeous bow and THAT is a prime example!!
Can't wait to hear the reviews.
DROOOOL....... That's stunning. Love my Blacktail. Functioning piece of art. :goldtooth:
Very nice!!
Just when you think the Blacktails can't get any better...BAM!...AND they are shortening the build time. Good stuff. I look forward to reading your impressions of this model.
Beautiful wood choices and of course excellent craftsmanship. Just amazing.
Thanks all for the kind words, I'm still just sitting and holding this bow like its hard to believe its even here. To answer some q's the riser woods are thuya and gaboon ebony and the limbs are tiger myrtle footed with thuya. Myrtle accents on riser and limbs. VERY happy with this combination. My impression is the thuya is actually somewhat light, at least in regards to the exotic wood spectrum, but the sikta riser still has some nice mass to it and the gaboon is definitely adding some of it. This weekend I'll run her through the steps and provide my thoughts, also compare with my snakebit (VL model 19in riser).
A beauty...congrats!
Wow! hard to get any prettier than that. Congrats.
Beautiful bow

Yes the Eritage serie!!!
Awesome bow. Blacktail and Dale Dyes are about my favorite bows to look at.
some of the nicest recurves to shoot as well!!
Tasty Blacktail ... congratulations!
It's a beauty, hope it serves you well!
Very nice!
Very pretty bow!!
man, that is gorgeous!
Beautiful woods!
So I got to shoot the sitka alittle and WOW. I have to say I am a blacktail bow fan and was very curious about this shorter version when the new site went up. After some testing Blacktail delivers as expected. I didn't have too much time so I didn't do the side by side with the 19 inch riser elite, nor did I take my phone out for pics, only time for a few arrows and I wanted to focus on getting to know her and tune a bit. Some points that I do want to focus on for those that may be curious
1. the grip: excellent, if your a previous blacktail owner you'll find the sitka keeps a familiar shape providing consistent hand placement. if there was a blacktail challenge and you had to grip the elite or sitka blind folded, i doubt you would know the difference, assuming the same style that is.
2. gloss finish: excellent job, I find a good high gloss finish can be hard to find but was delivered here. especially nice with the T2 upgrade.
3. Draw: Again this was an area of much curiousity for me with this new shorter model. but until I do the comparison with the elite VL, I am inclined to think the new limb design offers a smoother draw making the bow an overall pleasure to shoot. Didn't notice any finger pinch either at 29in.
Lastly, this bow really did perform. I don;t have a chrono, but this bow at 44@29 delivered a hard hitting arrow and was generating good shot placement prior to much tinkering on my part, which my "help" may only make things worse. So far the sitka is a pleasure to shoot and performs at the caliber I have come to expect from my snakebit.
A few more pics I just took showing off a few more details. Next time I will get some out in the sun which really makes her shine. Sorry about some of the pics being a bit fuzzy.
