Seems to me there are a lot of Trad Gang members from the state of New York. Would be interesting to know the total. I'm sure the administration could give me a tally, but thought it would be fun to take a poll. So if your from NY, please add your name to the list, or just add to the count. Thanks for participating!
kevin from B'ville
Born and raised and still here after 55 yrs. :saywhat:
Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there :bigsmyl:
Born and raised in Brooklyn...moved to Long Island almost 17 years ago
Sauquoit but been through your neck of the woods. Beautiful country!
Smack dab in the middle for 62 years.......that will change in the not to distant future. Both my parents came from farming families and now they are almost all gone. I'm the only one left, my daughter lives and works in Georgia with her family and I will move to be near them.
Born and raised. Been living here for 65 years.

Another native NYer here.
been in the empire state for 3 yrs now. I have been staying here since I came to the US and now my coming baby boy is going to be a NYer :D
I've lived in central NY all my life. Cicero, about 15 miles north of Syracuse for about 40 years, and about 20 miles further north since Y2K.
Except for a small stay in FL after school, been here 45 yrs.
Western NY is where I call home.

Hey Stump, Ain't it the truth! :biglaugh:
I've seen other places and there sure are some with attractions, but I've stuck it out so long now I'm going to finish it here. Guess I'm acclimated to NY.
Or just too stubborn to be chased off by Citiots and politicians.
I want some warmer weather and more hunting opportunities......like pigs! Seeing a deer now and then would be nice also. I'll be Georgia bound!
Born and raised here... committed to paying the taxes till my end! Lol
Born and raised in western NY.
NY yes, your poll results will be skewed by all teh non NY'ers who dont answer.
born in Poughkeepsie and did 43 yrs there minus a year ski bummin' in Colorado
I still live less than a 10 min drive from NY
I bought a lifetime license before I left too so i still hunt and fish there!

When Henry came up the River... My Ancestors met him on the bank..... "What's that big thing in our DriveWay???"

Been here 7 years now. Don't know if we are staying for the duration but enjoying my time in the Adirondacks, even the winters.
Born in Bath (parents from Prattsburgh and Hammondsport), raised in Ithaca, now living in Spafford. Fifty-six years in the Finger Lakes.
Tim
Born and raised in Queens, 20 or so years, then another 20 in the northeastern Adirondacks.
Last 15 in northern VT, close enough to see some of the Adirondacks from my deck.
Lived here most of my 66 years. Heck, I have been here so long that I can remember when there were deer in the Adirondacks.
Born and raised in the Butternut Valley of Otsego County.I still call it home, but at my age I need a little more sunshine so who knows.
shot my biggest body buck in the town of butternuts on the river rd--nice country there!
Just using the poll as a means of head count Charlie. Not trying to get a total count of all TG members, just those in NY.Therefore it can't get skewed ok bud? ;)

Small world, I was born in Bath also and grew up mainly in Trumansburg NY 10 miles North of Ithaca.Lived there from the age of 8 till I was 25.Killed my biggest buck there. He dressed out over 200 lbs. Very old buck with a decrepit 9 point rack. I don't think I'll ever see another buck that big. Certainly not were I hunt now.
Orange County
Born here 51 years ago but I doubt I'll be here after my wife and I retire. We are looking for someplace that is less expensive to live out our " golden years".
1/2 of our land is in Hammondsport and the other 1/2 is in Bath . Deer population is way down from 10 years ago and the taxes are way up oh figure !
62 years would not live any place else
Born, raised, and still living in Dutchess Co. 55 years later.
Now that the wife and I are both retired, seriously considering buying some ground in Iowa, building a cabin and enjoying some quiet time. (3 resident deer tags might be another incentive!!)
I'm a native as well.
Born and raised in Monroe county
Central New York- have lived here 63 years or so, it's a beautiful area with all the lakes and rivers. Farm land every where, lots of deer. That being said the taxes are terrible and we are controlled by NYC. Tried to talk wife into Tenn. last year but she wants to be near grand kids, don't think I will win this one.
Been in ny my whole life, but about to become a snowbird, looking forward to hunting in florida in the winter months.
Canandaigua via Canajoharie..... 57 short years
Was born there in western NY, but glad I escaped 22 years ago.
Guess it would be 48 years for me. Been in Canandaigua for 29 of that.
Western NY is home. I love the open spaces of the western states but my family has been in Genesee County for more that 200 years so who am I to leave now ?
I'm one but wish I wasn't.
Grew up, live in and work in Columbia County. Plenty of deer but the armpit of NY if you're after mature bucks. Great fishing and turkey hunting though.

LOL......My relatives fought with the Hessians and then changed sides and fought with the American forces here locally under Washington.......I'm still leaving!
Not anymore, but I still hunt dutchess/columbia county.
Yep, still farming here, just as my father did and his father did and his father... you get the idea
Live in Brooklyn NY for all of my 70 years. Retired now and spend my time between the city, Florida and hunting my property in Gilbertsville, Otsego county NY.
Born and raised in Ozone Park, Queens. Now I live in Salisbury, Nassau.

I've heard tell you can remember what Adirondack woolly mammoth steaks taste like. :wavey:
Born in Gloversville but grew up in Fulton county in Ephratah. Have lived in Utica, NY since 1992. Love hunting Wyoming with my best friend who lives out there, but I'll live here at least til my wife dies. Course I'll probably be dead first:-) except for taxes & NYC running upstate it's not bad.
Been here in Walton in the foothills of the Catskills for 42 years on a dead-end road. Beautiful country but deer numbers sure aren't what they used to be.
Born in the Bronx, raised in Orange county.45yrs. is enough.Don't miss NY.Lived in Ga for, 4yrs. Moved to Pa, 10yrs ago. Moving back south, soon!
City of Auburn, one of the homes of Bass Pro.I've been here for all my 54 years
Got about 50, Knawbone!!!!!!!!!!
That's one heck of a stumpshoot,if we could get them all together!!!
:campfire: :archer: :archer: :archer:
Hey Ken, are you familiar with Dryden rd, off of pines bridge I believe?
Born and raised in Brooklyn ,hunt various areas of upstate New York.
Was born and raised in Binghamton. Killed a button buck in 1969 near Candor with a
Bear recurve. Have been hooked ever since. Moved to Arizona in 1972. Still miss NY at times and still cheer for the Yankees and the NY Giants.
Bill
Wouldn't that be awesome to get that many NYTG members together for a shoot? Good thought Chuck, we may have to try that sometime!!! :shaka:
......and there are a bunch that have not replied.
Steve,
Dryden Road is about 5 min. from me. Off of Pines Brook Road. Do you know someone there?
Ken
Pines brook is right, not pines bridge, yes a really close friend lives there on property he and his brother own and his brother just had a house built on the property for his retirement home.
I'm there every August for their annual pig roast, three days of fun in the country, always coincides with the fair down at the fairgrounds.
Also know a local by the name of Gary Galley down the hill.
Sounds like Radomski's to me. Just wired a new house for Jimmy last fall. Can't recall his brothers name but he showed me several mounts he was working on and said he did some trad bow hunting back home around Westchester I believe.
Gary Gallley is quite a boy.....
John Radomski?
Yep, that's who it be, i'll be darned, small world aint it !!
Great taxidermist, he did my eight from 2012, pedestal mount, looks alive
That would be John? Very nice guy. Showed me some stuff he was working on while we were doing the house. I got invited to this years pig roast but had prior commitment. An epic party so I've heard!
Jimmy is the taxidermist, maybe see you there next year, usually around 1-200 people
Yes, Jimmy. He was working on some mounts while we were doing Johnny's house. He had quite a stereo system too if I recall.
oh yeah !!
