Sooo, just a random thought, why don't hunters just wear makeup instead of face paint?
I've never used facepaint myself, but it seems like it would be greasy and hard to remove.
Makeup however, is intended to be worn on the face for long periods of time, and is intended to take away shininess in your face.
It can't be for a lack of colors, you could certainly get makeup in browns/blacks intended for darker skinned people, and I'm sure you can find greens as well.
Is it just a matter of pride > practicality? Is it too hard to be found in the makeup isle as apposed to going to the surplus store and buying camo face paint?
For the record, I've never worn makeup either, so maybe they are equally a pain to apply and remove?
Or maybe makeup washes off too easily with sweat and rain, etc?

if it weren't for the rest of the year (and your life) a series of tattoos would be neat !  You'd never forget to put it on, it wouldn't rub off when you sweat... lots of good reasons.

Halloween face paint works great an washes off easy. A tube is $1 so get black brown and green and for less then $5 your good for a year or two! Dosent really have a smell, but can sweat off.

				Carbo mask.   http://www.3riversarchery.com/carbomask%26reg%3B+tactical+face+paint_i7330-4_baseitem.html
I carry nonscented baby wipes with me anytime in the woods or in vehicle.  This stuff wipes right off with some swips of the baby wipe.  I did try makeup when I was younger and it is harder to get off your face.  Plus the idea of wearing Maybelline goes against man-law.

I just go with the tried and true Wind River balaclava from First Lite. ASAT pattern, of course.

Well I am the only man in my household, (I don't wear it myself) and I am the dedicated bread winner, with that said...... Have you seen the price of makeup? I have 3 daughters and a wife, camo face paint is waaaay cheaper.

Face paint is for men.  Makeup is for women and wierdos.  I am gonna stick with my paint.

I cant wear a mask because it fogs up my glasses. Even the netting mask does also. So I wear paint.I use to use the regular paint but it was greasy,  smeared when sweating or by barely rubing your face, but the main thing it took forever to get off. I picked some Carbo Mask at Cloverdale and Im in love with it. It doesnt take much to remove it. It doesnt with sweat or by rubbing it. It dries to a flat color. I got it in black and gray, but it also comes in green also.

I was introduced to the carbo mask this year and I liked it enough to add it to our store.
Great stuff, don't stink or run. Won't turn your skin green or rub off on clothes. Washes off well too.

Carbo mask works better than any I've tried !

Burnt cork works good and comes off fairly easy.

				Carbo mask

				I don't use any

				Burnt cork x2.

I can't do the head nets comfortably either. The glasses are fogging or pushed out of place. I try them every year....... and every year I say "no more". The camo creme are ok, but some of them need some serious elbow grease to get off.  Nineworlds was kind enough to send me one of the multi-colored sticks so we will give that a whirl this coming week.
My favorite is my Asbell wool square. Olive-brown in color and big enough to fold in half and knot. I pull it up just under my nose and am good to go.
                                                Good Shooting,

Another vote for Carbomask. Black is all you need. Works great on your hands too, no gloves. Make up is for the hunting show stars:)

well, if makeup is harder to remove, I guess that answers my question.
Glad I asked though, 'cause now I know about carbomask, but since it's close to halloween, I might grab some cheep paint from the party store.
Or course, I could always find a cork or two.

Cheap black halloween paint is all I use. Easy on and easy off. Think its a dollar a tube at the big stores.

Spandaflauge head net. Cut a couple slots for the eyes and mouth  fits very nicely also great when it cools down keeps the face warm.
Fits very snug holds up glasses and no problems with fogging up.

I use a spandaflauge head net with my ghillie boonie. Spandaflauge fits tight to your face with no bulk. Quit usin the camo paint years ago.

I wear eyeglasses and find the nets that have a nose guide and elastic to hold the net around my eyes work well.

There's a half-mask style that gives more airflow for glasses as well.

I wear a hooded mask. Easy on easy off. All the paint type stuff I have tried has run when I sweat.

I like the carbomask, too. With the other types of face paints, I always tended to have a greenish tint around hunting season. My wife said it makes me look like I've got some sort of ailment. The Carbomask comes off a lot easier and doesn't have that greasy feeling.

Have a beard that reaches my chest, though my wife did approve tribal affiliated facial tattoos.  Plan on getting them soon.

As do I, but the facial tatts are out of the question, lol. I just need something for my cheeks and nose.

Not me. Homemade deer skin face mask. Easy on, easy off, effective and smells good.

While I believe in culling the light of our faces I use a bit of good ole water.and.dirt..... It's free and washes.right off  ;)

I heard that it's hard to get good hunting colors that flatter your eyes and natural skin tone, and the eyelashes fall off at all the wrong times.

				What Deeter said.....  :readit:

Iv' been using carbon powder from Carbon Synergy. Works great without the itchy feeling of face paint. Washes off fairly easy, and masks your odor as well as your face! I like burnt cork as well. ( basically the same thing I believe )

Spandaflauge head cover with a slot cut for eyes. Fits tight, is suprisingly warm in cold weather and works well with glasses.

I like the Tatoo idea kind has an island flavor to it.
