Just want to introduce myself...my name is Darron all I know is fishing/hunting/jet boating/and good friends...anyway I switched from compound to recurve fully this year. I had been deer hunting with a compound for years and bowfishing with a recurve for 3 yrs. Decided to go full stick bow all around and I love it....I've been shooting a samick sage 50# for months now and Im Confident to 20. If I get time between duck and goose hunting I'll let it fly! Compound got so boring to me..when I shoot my recurve i have to make myself stop!
Welcome Darron and glad to see ya here with us! Got a great journey ahead so, keep us posted on your progress. Lots to learn here!

Welcome !!!!!!!!
Welcome,I myself am fairly new to trad 5 years now don't own anything with training wheels. Good luck.
Just for the heck of it, I took my compound to the blind last Sunday.
I took a few shots in the backyard first and found the draw cycle very unfamiliar and unpleasant.
I guess because it IS a legal weapon, and I like to think of myself as an open minded person, and I used to shoot it all the time, when I knew nothing of stickbows (not that I know much now, but...) and I wanted to see if it was still fun.
And you are right.
It's boring.
It's not near as much fun or challenging.
It's heavier, clunkier, more complicated, not smooth drawing, not nearly as pretty....just did not feel right.
Glad I made the decision to switch and...
Glad you did too,
Welcome!
