Larry fought the long battle to survive the cancer which he called the "Bastard". His tenacity and desire to fight the" Bastard", even under diminishing odds for survival , is a lesson from which we all can learn.
Cancer affects not just the individual. but the spouse as caregiver .Belinda fought the battle right along side Larry......Prayers to you Belinda and Larry's family.
He will be missed!
Prayers for Larry's family
My condolences to the Fischer Family, I always enjoyed reading about Larry's exploits in the magazines. I have been keeping up on his dogged battle with the "Bastard", as he referred to his cancer. Really sorry to hear this. I suppose now he can rest easy. He will be missed.
Harry

My condolences and prayers as well.
Rest in peace Larry,he fought a hard battle as the brave you are always been, but the bastard never gives up.
You'll be long remembered on our hearts.
Rest in peace my friend. Prayers for Belinda and the rest of the family.
My condolences for Larry's family and friends.
I've spoken with Belinda over many years and it's just within the past two years that I was privileged to have met both of them when they came to my archery events here in Alabama.
I feel I've lost an old friend but my heart is very heavy for Belinda, I feel like she's like family.
When we've spoken over the years about TB and the ads I was pacing, we'd get off subject many times about just little things. The weather here and there, along with so much other small talk.
I know Larry's in a better place and we all need to keep Belinda and their family in our prayers.
God bless.
Terry Harris
Prayers to all you and yours .
Prayers for the Fischer and Conrad families.
I have just retired the "crush the bastard" purple wristband I wore for him. Saw him at the Safari......

I only met Larry once, he wouldn't know me in a crowd of one. I do have several friends who are close to Larry and his family, and they are heartbroken. Larry was a part of something that changed many of our lives.
The first time I saw TBM on the newstand was a pivotal moment for me. I already hunted with a recurve, but it was awesome to finally realize I wasn't alone. That first issue (for me, anyway) of TBM opened up a whole world, and guided me toward many of the friendships I have today. Larry's effort affected my life deeply, and he didn't even know it.
He was on my mind this morning as I made my way to my stand under a billion stars... Rest easy Larry, and thanks for all of it.
I am deeply saddened to hear the news. I was fortunate to have had several really nice conversations and visits with Larry since he found out he had cancer. I was always impressed with his positive attitude. He will be missed.
This is sad news. Prayers to friends and Family. I still to this day carry purple afield. I hadn't received the news until now and was just thinking of him this morning while on stand.
The archery community will miss him.
Prayers for the Fischer family. Cancer affects so many, we will continue the fight and support research to find a cure for this terrible disease. Larry was a friend to many and will be remembered. God bless.
May You Rest in Piece and the arrows fly true in Heaven!
Prayers to Belinda and family!
Larry, through your legacy, you will always be with us. Prayers sent to your family. Amen
Larry was certainly a delight to talk to and had a refreshing perspective on life. He will be missed. I pray that Larry's wife, Belinda, their family and friends can achieve a peace in the near future.
He will be missed by many. The hole left by his passing is a testimony to how much he meant to so many. I always thought of him as a "gentle giant". I will forever remember his smile.
My prayers go out to Belinda and his family.
More prayers sent for Larry and his family! Physical life is shorter than we know.
I never met Larry. I went and looked today in my closet at the shelves filled with Traditional Bowhunter magazines. How I relish rereading them. Every one of them a gem.
I thought about how Larry Fisher indirectly has influenced and helped so many of us. The trad community has lost such an important member of our community. Godspeed Larry. Your legacy is complete here. See you at the divine campfire, on the other side.
:campfire:
Prayers of peace for his loved ones and close friends.
Condolences to his family, and may God be a comforting arm during this time of loss.

Sad news for sure. I hope his loved ones can find comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer tormented by "the bastard".
Back in the mid-90's TBM had a subscription contest. Whoever sold the most subscriptions got to hunt with the entire staff of TBM, with Gene and I doing the guiding on the Cottonwood Whitetails Outfit in eastern Montana. It was won by Cory Mattson from N.C. Early the very first day Larry filled his tag. As I walked up to him and his buck he had a smile on his face and said, "I'm out." I started to give him some jovial static about not waiting for a bigger buck when he cut me short with a grin saying, "Hey.. this is the one I wanted." It was right then I knew what kind of man he was. He wasn't there for any kind of show. He was there for the fun of the hunt with good friends. Size didn't matter. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers to all his family with love and thanks. bw aka ub
Even though I did not know Larry, he was clearly one of the people that has given his heart, soul, imagination, and passion to the sport/lifestyle/hobby/way of life that all of us have chosen to follow. Without him and his efforts to make Traditional Bowhunter an icon and a touch stone in our lives, we would have been all the poorer.
I am sorry to know that he went before he was due.
Steve
My deepest sympathies to his family and to Mr. Conrad's family. Cancer took my father and mother..I hate it. TBM (and through Larry's writings)has been my friend since the first issue. You will always have my respect, rest in peace.
Very sad news !!!
Bill
Sorry to hear, may he rest in peace.

Great story Barry
Was out of town until this morning. Sad to hear of the lost battle. Been using purple serving on all my strings in his honor. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.
Sad, I had no idea. My family stayed at his cabin once, it was a PBS donation.
Only met him that one weekend but his 1st impression was stellar. My family has great memories of that cabin and that trip as well.
God bless his family.
Prayers to his family a sad for sure
I so enjoyed our last visit in Alabama, my prayers go out for his family and the Conrads. Bill and Neita Fran
Larry was the cook on our PBS youth hunt he did an outstanding job, and we flung some arrows together. A fine person indeed.
My condolences to the family and friends.
My family and I stayed at the Fisher cabin outside of Yellowstone also. Great memories! Last saw Larry at the NALS at Hoodo this summer. Sad to see such a big strong man in that condition, but I don't ever recall Larry ever complaining. My hope is that by all of us (his friends) sharing in this grief we can somehow lessen the burden for Belinda and the family. As stated many times, he will be missed by many, including me. Bob M.
Condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Very sad. So sorry to hear this. Larry's name will always be synonymous with traditional archery. God Bless.
How blessed we have been to have had invaluable role models.
Crossing the threshold of eternity, where there is only love, is a gift beyond our imagining.
God bless his friends and family as they grieve.
Tim, thanks for the heads up. Just sent a donation to Back Country Hunters and Anglers in Larry's honor. Worthwhile cause for sure and a great way to honor Larry for what he stood for.
Dam I hate herring this saw him at Denton hill this July. God bless and know that Larry's sitting at the camp fire with all the greats . I hope Belinda finds comfort soon . I know how she must feel.
For now, good bye my friend. See you in the Spring...
Thoughts and prayers go out to all family and friends, we have no idea how many lives he touched.
I hope the hunting is good where you are now, Larry. Save a place for us at your campfire.
I met Larry about ten years ago at the PBS youth leadership hunt on his and Dick Robertson's property in MT. He was organizer and host. He had quite the sense of humor and gave each one of the kids participating a nick name. My son got 'Ernie" after Ernie from the old TV show My three Son's. We lost a great leader.
Then he was the camp cook on the PBS youth leadership hunt that my nephews were on. At on of the presentations that Guy Perkins had set up we were doing it on a beach and while the speakers were talking Larry was picking up pieces of garbage all the time while paying attention to the speakers. He would engage them as he felt necessary. At the final camp fire I presented him with the coveted clean camper award.

My sincerest condolences to the Fisher family and everyone that was close to him.
Thanks for the memories Larry.
