Some years ago, I bought an adjustable folding one legged hunting stool, since then I have borrowed it out and it's where abouts are currently unknown. This will be a real asset to the new set up I have for rut hunting, but I can't remember the name of it, I do know it was made in Mississippi.
Thanks in advance for any info!
Tim,
It may have been a NIFF-T-SEAT. I have one that fits in my pack...very handy. tippit
Yep! That was it!
Thanks Tippit!
Tim,
Give us a report on your findings. Last I heard the seat was out of oroduction and the owner was selling off his inventory with no plans of making more.
Matt
If true ( not in production anymore ) that's too bad, as it is the best for stalking and bushwhacking deer and elk that I have found, glad I have mine !
Can't be of any help in locating one and I'm not familiar with the NIFF T SEAT, but do have a word of warning. Spent many years hunting in Germany and the little folding/collapsing stools were very popular. One of them had a telescoping, single center leg with inverted umbrella rib type of arms supporting the canvas seat. One hunter had the telescoping leg collapse one stop and when he hit a solid setting again, the support arms collapsed and the leg of the stool went right where you would suspect. It severely injured him for life. I think that model was withdrawn from the market after that, but something to think about.
When I was a kid on the farm we used a wooden one legged stool when we milked the cows. Balancing on a one legged stool with a bucket between the knees, both hands busy squeezing the cows udders  ...I don't think I could do that now... :dunno:
Tim I bought one years ago and never used it.If I can find where I last stored it you are welcome to it.I will let you know. Jay

I like the idea, been thinking about something like that. Big Jim has
a nice one on his site as well.
Thinking about making one; glad Bladepeek gave us a good warning about that sort of design!
I highly recommend the Nifft seat. I was gifted one and I use it quite a bit, unbelievably comfortable.
Here is an English adjustable stool. You can find them on E Bay

Check out the Hammock Seat by Fanatic outdoors. One of the best investments I have ever made for hunting. It is very comfortable and quiet. Allows for almost 360 degree shooting.

Very interesting. Does it squeeze your butt? I've got something a little similar (the Sit-Drag) and it's a bit of a butt squisher.
I like the look of that English stool.
Sad to hear that the Niffy T Seat may longer be made. Best ground hunting seat I've ever had. Use it a lot. It's awesome!
Hey sidebuster, do you know how much that stool weighs ?
Thanks
I found a place in georgia that was selling out the Nif-t-seat for 6 bucks. Cost me 15 to ship it. Bill
bullfrog do you have a link? I'd buy another for a spare even though I think this one is well built enough to last me the rest of my life time!
I don't. I'm sorry I forgot the name of the place. They only had a few and I'm sure they are gone. Bill
Take a look at a Walkstool. I use mine with the legs collapsed so they all come together at the ground. Very stable and comfortable. You can slowly pivot while taking your shot in one smooth motion.
I am usually reluctant to recommend any kind of gear because it is such a personnel decision. But if you are a mobile type of hunter its worth looking into. Very important to get sizing right. Two thumbs up.
If you can find one, I too would recommend the Niff-T-Seat, I've had mine for years and use it nearly every hunt.

Just looked at their site, didnt see anything sayin they werent still available, but they sure raised the price on em. $87 !!! I have 2 of em I bought years ago, and like them, but I wouldnt pay $87 for one.
Best seat I have found so far and I tried them all except for that 12lb huntmore seat.
the idea with the nifty is most people set them next to a tree and the tree is the backrest but when you need to shoot you lean away from the tree like your sitting up in a chair but the seat and super quiet pivot point comes up with you unlike seats that stay with the tree, your moving with the seat so theres no clothing noise from twisting your body and trying to shoot a hard angle,, deer hardly ever come the way you want them too.
OR first you adjust it so the main leg is the same height as your lower legs and when you sit your legs become the other two legs for the seat,, mthis seat is lethal when you need to shoot in all directions, you can even lean it while sitting,, no noise at all unless its sticking into a rock, comfort maybe 2hr sit then you have to adjust but I keep turning the seat 90 degrees every two hours and I'm fine.
if theya re out of buisness I'll have to find a couple more and stock up.
