Howdy,
I have a 2003 Adcock ACS 3pc TD longbow 64" 45#@28" in mint, like new condition. Cocobolo riser with red/black glass accent stripes and overlays. The limbs are black glass with carbon and bamboo laminations and red glass/black micarta tips.
I received the bow from the original owner, who was given this bow as a gift in May of 2003. The original owner was not an archer and the bow ended up spending the last 11 years sitting in a box on the top shelf of his closet. The bow has never been shot and is like new.
My question is, that I am considering selling the bow, but I do not have a good idea of its fair value. What would be a fair asking price for this bow?
Thanks,
Ron

Not trying to be funny or anything but it is worth what someone will pay for it. When it was built, if I remember correctly they were going for around $1000. Now with all the bad press O.L. has had due to non delivery and not refunding money, I do not know, maybe around $500 if you can get it.
is it a Adcock or a&h ?
If it's a true Adcock, I'd suggest around 800-1000. If it's an A&H 600 or more. It doesnt matter that O.L. Ran into trouble fulfilling orders, you've still got one of the best bows ever made.
I got my refund in a timely manner. I have no bad things to say about OL other than he never made me a bow for 3 years so I got a refund.
OK, thanks for the advice.
I had never seen one for sale, so I had no price comparison, but now I have a good idea.
thanks again.
Ron
Yes, the bow is an marked "built by O L Adcock", and the paper work is addressed Roswell , New Mexico..... (that's where the space aliens live)
It's whatever someone will pay based on your asking price. They are throwing out good numbers but the market hasn't been as good as it could be in a long time. Take the numbers as 'asking' prices. You will likely get less. I would say 500-750 is a good estimated range for an actual sale price depending on the buyer and what you're willing to live with. It has a bit of collectibility.
Thanks Chuck,
If anyone knows the market price of a bow, you're the man.. even though, I hoping for better numbers. Seems like my home run find has turned into a strike out.... and there is no joy in Mudville tonight.
But tomorrow, maybe I will put the limbs on the riser, string her up and fling some arrows until I have a smile on my face.
Thanks,
Ron
Those specs are perfect and I wouldn't sell that bow if it was me! 'Course, I don't know your financial situation so, do what needs to be done. Good luck with whatever you decide. She sure is a beauty.
Yep, I purchased the Adcock on speculation.. I was "tickled" to find a bow built in 2003, that had never been shot and in new condition...
Yep, I overpaid in my eagerness to have it.
However, this is not the first time nor will it be the last time, that my bow-aholic addiction has added another bow to the rack.

Hunting season is here so bows are moving especially slow as guys are sticking with tried and true setups. Things will pick back up toward spring no doubt.
In my opinion you would be wise to hold on to it.
From your description, this isn't a CX model since there is fiberglass. Therefore it most likely won't bring as much.
BUT. I would bet this bow will outshoot most of the high end custom bows out there, hybrids and recurves. I have two lefty Adcock CX models and they are TREMENDOUS performers, and I am not just talking about speed.
There is only one way to know for sure. I think you know what you have to do. ;)
We will wait for your report.
Yes, I paid too much for the Adcock to sell it at market price.. So today I took it out of the box, strung it up and spent two hours fling'n arrows at hay bales.. It was a pleasure to shoot, and made me happy.
Yes......this story has a happy ending, and the bow is no longer virgin. You never know, where you will find some toxophilite love.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
have a nice day,
Ron
How about more pics of her? It looks like a really purty bow.
I've wanted one of those A&H bows from the time I saw them on here. There was a time that they couldn't make them fast enough to satisfy the demand.
I liked it so much because of the testing and such that they said went into the bow and the limbs where I would be able to shoot the same size arrows I shoot out of my 45 pound bows at the same speed, but with a much lower draw weight in an A&H longbow. That's pretty darn attractive to those of us that can't shoot heavy bows.

That's all pretty cool, use it well and good luck with it.
Here are a few pics of the found Adcock acs.

I sure like the riser...... I wish that A&H would offer one in this style.
