Title: Stupid mistake
Post by: freedomhunter on October 16, 2014, 08:26:00 AM
Well it is starting to cool a little in Florida which means I get to cut my work in half and get paid the same      :bigsmyl:   The lawns will start to slow down with growing and the 105 degree heat index is no more.

So I decide to start getting back in the gym. So the past few days I have felt very weak lifting weights but nonetheless proceeded.

I was suppose to get up this morning to hit the woods in hopes of my first trad bow kill when I realized the night before I better try and draw my bow back.  I am so sore that I can get the draw but I shake so bad.  Needless to say the deer are safe from me for now.  My day off and I can't even practice, so I will sit here and read everyone's new post.  Have a good morning.

Pick up a bowflex from Three Rivers Archery and do the exercises outlined on the instructional sheet that comes with it. That'll get you back in shooting shape in no time.

10 minutes south of Daytona Beach.  Have family that lives in Lake Land and Clear Water.  I will be making a trip over shortly to Tampa, because someone told me about an archery shop their and I really need to get my arrows setup right for my bow.

Sorry if I wasn't clear on my post.  It's not that I can't pull my bow back.  I have been practicing a lot before season.  It's the fact that I am so sore from the weights I can barely get in and out of my Jeep. Let alone pull my bow.  My work out routine destroyed my hunt this morning.

It has happened to me too, just plan your workout vs hunting days better.

Freedom,

as you get back in the swing of things, it wont matter when you work out.  When your muscles are used to working out, there is a built up of lactic acid, which causes soreness, so after your muscles get used to working out again, everything will be right.

I would encourage you to still try to shoot your bow as working out will only speed up the recover(cycling out the lactic acid).

the answer is NOT stop working out.  It is work out more often.

why not do some scouting from the stand maybe even bring a camera while waiting to heal,, pics of that deer under your stand in the "right"  postion would be just as cool as if it where laying by your side.
