Make sure to do all the appropriate trimming to avoid string contact.

I have several including ones I now make.  I have started leaning more towards synthetic materials and more leafy material.  What I love about a ghillie is you can add material to make it blend into most any environment and to me it is the best camo out there.  For light weight version I really like the sapper kill suits sold by all predator calls.... they do an awesome job of breaking up the human silhouette and are so light and don't grab onto every branch like traditional ghillies.

At times I use a sapper kill suit too. Really breaks up your outline

I'll try and get a pic of mine. Its very simple and has proven effective. If you stick to basic guidelines the sky is the limit.

I have a Bushrag suit and a couple of Rothco suits. All use the 3/4" netting with the threads tied onto it. I find that is a much better design than sewing the threads directly to the suit because it allows you to easily replace the threads that you will lose over time.

The Bushrag suit is higher quality than the Rothco suit. It's only problem is the hood is attached to the jacket. When you turn your head, the hood doesn't turn so you find yourself staring at the inside of it - not good when you're trying to pick a spot. I cut the hood off my Bushrag jacket so I could see and wear it separately like the Rothco.

Whatever you do, get a lightweight suit. Those things are warm to wear and can be downright oppressive in the early season!

TooManyHobbies that one looks fantastic, matches your environment perfectly. I'm assuming you made that one?
Oh, and I like your screen name, I can relate...

I made one for paintball, but never hunted in one. It would be fun to make another one, but I don't think I could ever find the time again. :/

I can't remember the brand of my kit, but it used jute cord, and it shed everywhere. If I were to do it again, I would probably replace the jute with wool yarn.

there are suits with no yarn at all, I have one (RS) and actually prefer that.

Thanks. I made it this past winter  http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=136855#000000.  Took 35 hours or so.  Used it for turkeys in the spring (no luck). Only used it once so far this deer season, had two does almost run me over. The jute sheds like crazy. I need to put some leaves in it like Snowplow did. Once I get my ground seat from BigJim, I'll use it more.
If you make one, make sure you use shoe goo on the threads that you tie to the undergarment. I used a 3xl shirt with bird netting. All the threads untied until I put the shoe goo on the knots. Maybe this winter I'll make the pants.

Snowplow, where did you find the fake leaves?
