Title: Lost Bow
Post by: Bill Kissner on October 09, 2014, 03:24:00 PM
This is a long shot but I lost a container out of my camper after leaving Comptons last June. A side compartment came open as I was entering the 4 lane just south of the grounds. I never realized anything had fallen out for several weeks and was not even sure the bow was in the container for some time. Also there was some bow quivers and a green Kathy Kelly bow case among other hunting equipment. The bow is a Dryad Orion recurve with an osage riser and black ACS RC limbs. I realize finding the stuff after several months the chances are slim but if anyone can help I'd appreciate and would definitely pay a reward.

Friend of mine left his on the top of the cab of his truck and drove off - never to be seen again. You are not alone. (unfortunately)

Sadly could have been found by an honest person but everyone is not an archer or a member of an archery forum and without ID on the case it's hard to locate the owner.

Several years ago while hunting public land in Kansas, I pulled up the parking area where I was going to sit for the evening and almost ran over a brand new wheelie bow. I think this was about a $1000 set up. I put the bow in my truck and left a note on the gate, stating found bow, and call this number. As I was heading into the woods, a truck came down the dirt road at a high rate of speed. The guy was hunting and had an emergency at home. In the process of loading his equipment up he left his bow laying in the grass. I pulled the bow out of my truck and showed him the note I left, I thought he was going to cry. He had been saving up for 3 years to buy the bow. He tried to pay me in money and deer meet, but I told him I would not accept it and hoped someone would do the same for me.

When I lived in Oregon I finished hunting, put the bow down and took off my boots, drove away and never found out until the next day that it was not there, went back, couldn't find it. Put and ad in Lost and Found and a guy called me the next day. Hope the same happens to you.

Just wanted to update this thread. As I said in my original post, I was unsure the Orion was even in the container. Well it wasn't, my wife found the bow in it's takedown sleeve in a closet where she or I had put it.       I cannot tell you all how happy we both were. Looks like the quivers, case and other stuff was all that was in the container that was lost. I suppose old age is catching up with us.   :)
